Good evening, Trojans. This is principal Matthew Price with your weekly announcements

Mark your calendars… Free College Application Week starts this week, October 21-27. During the week, students will have the opportunity to apply to participating North Carolina colleges/universities through CFNC. Our college advisor, Ms. Rivera, along with our counselors, will be assisting students in completing their college applications during both lunches and after school until 4pm.

All Sophomores will take the PreACT on Monday, October 28th.  Students should make sure they have updated their Chromebooks for testing.  For test day, all students should bring their Chromebooks, a snack and water with them.

This Wednesday is our next 8-period day. Please remember that this is the day each month we set aside to allow for students to bring grades up and check in with teachers to make sure they are moving towards success. Attendance is important, so please be sure to attend all 8 classes since the quarter ends next week and grades will be finalized.

The PTSA will be having a General membership meeting Nov 6 at 7pm in room 1301. Enter by the external media center doors. Please join us to find out all the exciting things happening here at Garner Magnet High School.

For those new to GMHS we have a special way to recognize teachers who are going above and beyond to show excellence in what they do. If you see an example of this and would like to share, please complete this Trojan Shout Out form. Teachers will be recognized in front of their peers for their excellence. The link is also permanently on the GMHS website.

The Mighty Trojan Marching Band is having a fundraiser raffle for a 55in TV, a Blackstone 2 burner griddle, and Beats Solo Wireless headphones. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased from any marching band member. We will be selling them at the next 2 home football games as well.  Drawing will be held at the Oct 25th football game.

If your student is in need of a student planner/agenda, they can be purchased on our website through the Online School Payments for $9.00. Once the planner is purchased, it will be delivered to your student. The planner is Garner-specific and can be a very useful tool to help students stay organized, meet deadlines, and plan for quizzes and tests.
