Good evening, Trojans. This is principal Matthew Price with your weekly announcements

Wednesday will be our next 8-period day. Please make sure that you are checking PowerSchool now and not waiting until Wednesday. We missed our February 8-period day due to inclement weather, and this is your chance to catch your grades back up before we get into quarter 4.

The Chorus Department's Spring Concert will be Wednesday, March 19th at 7:00pm in the GMHS Auditorium. All four choirs will be performing music of diverse styles, genres, and languages! Tickets are $5.00 at the door.

We are excited to announce the creation of our Senior Wall of Honor! From March 24th until May 12th, we will be working on highlighting the class of 2025 by honoring each senior's post-secondary plan/goals on our student services wall. If you would like to be featured on the wall, please let Ms. Rivera know what your post-high school plans are, whether it's enrolling into college, enlisting in the military, or going into the workforce.

Junior Civitan is taking clothing donations for Note in the Pocket until March 21st.  Donations can be dropped off in the front office.  A huge thank you to all who have donated so far!

Finally, The GMHS Class of 2026 is pleased to present Paris Masquerade, the Junior-Senior Prom on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, from 7:30 pm – 11:00 pm at the Crabtree Marriott in Raleigh. Good evening, Trojans. This is principal Matthew Price with your weekly announcements.

There has been an increase of students being dropped off in the student lot during morning carpool.  We ask that you use the express dropoff or our main carpool loop for the safety of our students. We will begin using our video to identify students who are not complying and assign consequences.

Additionally, as the weather starts to warm up we are seeing an increase in students who are leaving campus without permission during the day. Students who are doing so will begin with assignment to in-school suspension and could be suspended from school if the behavior continues. We need all students in each class, each day. Parents, please help us remind students of this expectation.

Attention Senior parents, please remind your students to check their email for potential Outstanding Senior Nominations. If they received the email, the application and endorsement are time-sensitive and due on Friday, March 14, by 11:59pm.

Yearbooks are still on sale for $75. Purchase now before the price increases on March 30th. Purchase at yearbookforever.com.

We want to ensure that all students have access to the latest scholarship opportunities! Please make sure to check our school website, Talking Points, and School Messenger regularly for updates on available scholarships. If you have any questions please reach out to Mr. Toron Brown at tbrown18@wcpss.net

Additionally, we encourage you to explore more opportunities by visiting CFNC Scholarship Search & https://www.wcpss.net/Page/57184 which is Garner's Scholarship page

Our BSU movie night will be this Thursday (3/14) in the aux gym at 6pm. Doors open at 5:45pm. Tickets are $5 at the door

These are all the announcements that I have for this week. GO TROJANS!
