Good evening, Trojans. This is principal Matthew Price with your weekly announcements

As we near the end of Semester 1, please remember that if your student needs help with organization and meeting deadlines, a student agenda can be purchased on our website through the Online School Payments for $9.00. Once the planner is purchased, it will be delivered to your student. The planner is Garner specific and can be a very useful tool to help your student keep track of their schoolwork.

Attention Sophomores: Your next personal project meeting is scheduled for January 28th and 29th. At this meeting, you will share your completed research document, your Bibliography, and the beginning of your report with your supervisor! Please see Mrs. Bennett in Room 4101 if you have any questions and/or need help meeting this deadline. You can also attend a Wednesday Homework Club session or seek help in the media center during your lunch.

The Drama Department's Improv Troupe will have its first public performance of the year on Tuesday, January 14th at 7:00pm in the Auditorium. Tickets are just $2 and concessions will be available. We hope you'll come out and join us for some laughs.

Good evening, Trojans. This is principal Matthew Price with your weekly announcements

This week is our last week of classes before winter break. Students will return to school on January 6th. Also, this Wednesday is our 8-period day for remediation. This is a reminder that this day is a final due date for any materials that were due since the last 8-period day. It is not the only time to make up work. You should be checking PowerSchool and working with your teachers to plan to be caught up by the end of the period on Wednesday.

2025-2026 school assignments have been updated in PowerSchools. Please review the information now to make sure it’s correct. If your student’s next year school assignment lists another school other than GMHS, feel free to apply for a magnet transfer. If you have any questions about this, please reach out to Ms. Warren.

Mark your calendar for the upcoming FAFSA workshop! Ms. Rivera will be hosting a FAFSA workshop Wednesday, December 18th from 6-7pm in the media center to assist students & parents in completing FAFSA applications. You MUST bring a laptop or Chromebook, NOT your phones. Additionally, parents must bring their tax information. If you have not already done so, please create an FSA ID before attending the workshop: https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch .

The GMHS Chorus Department Winter Concert will be on Thursday, December 19th at 7:00pm in the auditorium. Come hear your favorite holiday selections performed by our four choral ensembles, as well as student soloists! Happy holidays!

The GMHS Band program will be having their concert on Tuesday December 17th at 7pm. Please come out and support our talented students as they set the holiday mood with a fantastic performance.

The GMHS PTSA will be gathering cookies for a cookie exchange for our staff. Please send in homemade or store-bought cookies with your students this week for them to be passed out on Friday. They can deliver the cookies to the front office. The PTSA will be in the morning carpool line to gather any drop offs on Wednesday and Thursday.

Please remember our teachers and recognize them for going above and beyond to show excellence in what they do. If you see an example of this and would like to share, please complete this Trojan Shout Out form. Teachers will be recognized in front of their peers for their excellence. The link is also permanently on the GMHS website.

These are all of the announcements that I have for this week. I wish everyone a great holiday season and a Happy New Year, and GO TROJANS!
