Summer Memo – Good evening Garner Nation; this is Principal Carter Hillman with a Summer Memo:

    • All information provided in this Memo is posted on the GMHS website under the “Principal’s Message.”
    • Attention Senior Graduates:  Here is information to request final transcripts.  For in-state schools, you will need to request your FINAL transcript to be sent to the college of your choice by going into your CFNC account and requesting your final transcript to be sent.  CFNC began sending transcripts on Wednesday, June 24th. You must do this before tomorrow, Tuesday, June 30th.  For out-of-state schools, please use the SCRIB order.  Please to go the GMHS webpage for more specific details.  Look for Students, then College Planning.
    • Underclassmen:  For those students who requested “Request to Post Numeric Average” to change a second semester PC-19 to a numeric grade, the change will not occur immediately.  WCPSS has given schools through the end of this month to complete.  Once these changes have been made, the grade will appear in PowerSchools.  Thank you for your patience.
    • For those students needing to pick up materials left behind at the school, the front office will be opened on Wednesdays from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.  This includes seniors who still need to pick up their high school diplomas. The time is also available to drop off school materials to take care of fees and fines. When turning in materials, they will need to be bagged and labeled with the student’s name and the materials they are returning.
    • Department of Motor Vehicle DEC paperwork sign-off is now available each Wednesday, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the front office area of GMHS by appointment only.  In order to sign up for an appointment, please email Jennifer Ciaccio, Dean of Students, at jciaccio@wcpss.net. If you do not make an appointment, we cannot complete your paperwork.
    • GMHS continues to be closed to the public except for stated hours.  As the State of North Carolina and Wake County Public Schools is working to the opening of the 2020-2021 school year, I will be providing information throughout the summer months.
    • That ends your announcements for this evening.  Please continue to stay safe and enjoy your summer.
