    Monday Memo – Good evening Garner Nation; this is Principal Carter Hillman with a Monday Memo on Tuesday:

     

    • All information provided in this Memo is posted on the GMHS website under the “Principal’s Message.”
    • Students who have signed up for Plan A, in-person learning and do not attend in-person classes will be assigned unexcused absences for those days.  They will have three days to turn in excused notes to be changed absences to excused absence. There will be no exceptions to this policy.
    • Sophomores: GMHS will be giving the PreACT to all 10th grade students on Wednesday, April 28th.  The test can ONLY be taken in person.  Please check your school email for important information about the PreACT.  Please complete the survey as soon as possible.  Testing will be on GMHS campus for all 10th grade students.  Testing will begin at 7:30 AM and will end around 11:00 AM when students are excused from the building.  Student may bring a calculator to use on the math section.
    • Seniors, Jostens will be on campus on Wednesday, April 28th, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM to deliver Cap and Gowns, and Senior Products.  Jostens will be located outside the front of the building in the Carpool Loop.
    • Parents, families with students who are currently ineligible for school bus transportation may request service for the current school year. Requests are reviewed in the order they are received, and any approval is for the current school year only.  Those making this request will need to complete the Bus Attestation Form as well.  These can be found on the WCPSS website under the Transportation link.  Please contact Mrs. Smith at GMHS should you have any questions.
    • Seniors, Please check your school-based email.  Mr. Pruette sent an email requesting Name Verification for the reading of names at graduation.  If you have questions, contact Mrs. LeRoux at cleroux@wcpss.net. Please note, receiving this email does not guarantee that you are graduating.
    • Attention Seniors and parents: Please mark your calendars for Thursday, June 10th for graduation ceremonies in Trojan Stadium.  There will be two graduation sessions (based on the student’s last name) at 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM.  Should there be inclement weather, the make-up day is Friday, June 11th, same times.  More detailed information will be coming out next week.
    • Seniors, Timber Drive Elementary would like to invite former Timberwolves from the Class of 2021 back to walk the halls one last time.  Timber Drive students will line the halls and clap as you proudly walk in your cap and gown.  This event will take place at Timber Drive on Wednesday, June 9th at 2:00 PM.  Immediate family is welcome to join us and celebrate their graduating students.  There will be a small reception after the clap out to celebrate the Class of 2021.  For those interested, please see the Timber Drive website for more information.

    Monday Memo – Good evening Garner Nation; this is Principal Carter Hillman with a Monday Memo:

    • Students who have signed up for Plan A, in-person learning and do not attend in-person classes will be assigned unexcused absences for those days. They will have three days to turn in excused notes to be changed absences to excused absence. There will be no exceptions to this policy.
    • This Wednesday, April 14th, is a county-based Asynchronous Day for students. No students are to report to campus on Wednesday as there will be no live instruction. Teachers will post assignments to be completed.  Students will be marked present for classes by completing these assignments.
    • Juniors and Seniors, those wanting to go off campus for lunch will need to complete and submit the “Off-campus Lunch Form” to Mr. Pruette. Once he has received and approved of the form, you will receive an “Off-campus Lunch Pass.”  Once you have the pass, you can leave campus for lunch. 
    • Whereas the deadline for returning students to in-person learning has passed and GMHS is no longer accepting such requests, those who would like to move their in-person students to Virtual Academy may email Mr. Pruette at rpruette@wcpss.net.

  • Tuesday Memo | April 6

    Monday Memo – Good evening Garner Nation; this is Principal Carter Hillman with a Monday Memo on Tuesday:

     

    • Students return to classes this Thursday, April 8th.  All Plan A, in-person students should expect to be in attendance at school starting on that day.  Whereas we are looking forward to having more students back in the building, all GMHS students and staff are still expected to follow state and county Covid-19 health and safety protocols.
    • Students who have signed up for Plan A, in-person learning and do not attend in-person classes will be assigned unexcused absences for those days.  They will have three days to turn in excused notes to change absences to excused absence. There will be no exceptions to this policy.
    • Students, as all teachers are returning to the building, all classes will return to their scheduled classroom locations unless otherwise posted on the classroom door.
    • Juniors and Seniors, those wanting to go off campus for lunch will need to complete and submit the “Off-campus Lunch Form” to Mr. Pruette.  Once he has received and approved of the form, you will receive an “Off-campus Lunch Pass.”  Once you have the pass, you can leave campus for lunch.  All Juniors and Seniors received a school-based email on Thursday, March 25th informing them of this process. Any student leaving campus without a pass may be moved to Virtual Academy.
