Chromebook Expectations
Students are expected to bring a WCPSS-Issued Chromebook to school with them daily for school work and testing. This also allows for any updates to be installed.
There is NO Bring Your Own Device Policy in place at WCPSS. Students are required to use their WCPSS Chromebook.
- Bring a fully-charged device with you to class every day.
- They are free to all students.
- WCPSS Testing Browsers require a WCPSS Chromebook in order to access them.
- Tech Service Staff are not allowed to repair or assist with any student's personal device.
- Report any issues to your teacher, media specialist, or WCPSS Student Help Desk as soon as possible.
- Do not remove your name label or case from the device.
- Take care of your device and keep it clean.
- Use your device in accordance with the policies, rules, and expectations of WCPSS and PCHS.
Chromebook Repair
If a student damages their device, we can repair it or replace it for them.
- Student devices are under warranty with Wake County; Technicians visit the Media Center regularly to fix hardware and software issues.
- Students can receive 1 replacement device without penalty.
- If there is a 2nd case of screen or water damage, students will be put on as a Day-Use Only user, meaning they will need to pick up and return their device to the Media Center daily.
