Ms. Reid
I am excited to enter my new role as an intervention teacher at Yates Mill Elementary School. This is my 5th year at Yates Mill and my 22nd year of teaching. I have taught grades 2nd –5th and was an academic coach for three years. I attended North Carolina Central University for both undergraduate and graduate studies. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in math and a Master of Arts in Elementary Education. In 2009, I received my National Board of Professional Teaching Standards in Early Childhood General Education. In 2015 I decided to add another career under my belt and became a real estate agent. Yes, I currently do both education and real estate.
I live in Raleigh with my lovely son Blake. Blake is very intelligent and keeps me super busy. He attends Yates Mill as a second grader. In my spare time (what little I have), I enjoy finding new adventures to keep Blake engaged, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and shopping.
As a dedicated educator, I believe that EVERY student has the potential to succeed, and my goal is to provide them with the tools and support they need to reach their fullest potential. I am committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that inspires students to explore new ideas, develop critical thinking skills, and build their confidence. I hope to empower my students to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens who can make a positive impact on the world around them. I look forward to having an amazing year at YMES!
