Hello! My name is Mrs. Kerneca Neils-Baird, and I am honored to be a part of the Yates Mill Elementary School family as a third-grade teacher through the Participate Learning Ambassador Teacher Program.

I bring with me over a decade of teaching experience from Trinidad and Tobago, where I’ve had the joy of nurturing young learners in diverse educational settings. My teaching philosophy centers around creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered to grow.

I believe that learning should be meaningful, joyful, and culturally rich. I am passionate about building strong relationships with students and families, and I look forward to sharing my Caribbean heritage while learning from this wonderful new community here in Wake County.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son, exploring new places, and getting involved in creative and faith-based projects.

I’m excited about the journey ahead and am committed to making this school year a memorable one for my students!
