Mrs. Gordiano
Hello! Let me tell you a little about myself! My parents immigrated to the United States from the Philippines. I was born and raised in New York. My family moved down to Cary, North Carolina when I was a sophomore in High School. I attended North Carolina State University, earning my degree in 2015 in Elementary Education with an additional licensure in English as a Second Language (ESL). GO PACK! My husband and I currently live in Apex. We have a loving and playful 3-year-old daughter, Natalia, who keeps us entertained in her toddler stage!
This is my 10th year teaching at YMES. I have taught 3rd grade for 5 years, and this will be my fifth year teaching 2nd grade. I am a North Carolina Teaching Fellow, and I am very passionate about education! I am also a National Board Certified teacher. My passion is family engagement, and I firmly believe that it takes a community and a team to work together to make learning successful.
I speak 3 languages – English, Tagalog, and Spanish. I often try to incorporate them when I teach! I love traveling and learning about other cultures, languages, and I especially love trying food from different countries. I am a big foodie and avid coffee drinker. In my free time, I love spending time with my family, getting absorbed in reading books on my Kindle, and crocheting!
I love inspiring and challenging students to be the best that they can be. I am excited about what this new school year can bring!
