Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Gordiano

Let me tell you a little bit about myself! My parents immigrated to the United States from the Philippines. I was born and raised in New York. My family moved down to Cary, North Carolina when I was a sophomore in High School. I attended North Carolina State University, where I earned my degree in 2015 in Elementary Education with an additional licensure in English as a Second Language (ESL). GO PACK! My husband and I currently live in Apex. We have a loving and playful daughter, named Natalia who is keeping us entertained in her toddler stage! We also have a sweet dog named Milah.

This is my 8th year teaching at YMES. I have taught 3rd grade for 5 years, and this will be my third year teaching 2nd grade. I am a North Carolina Teaching Fellow, and I am very passionate about education! I am also a National Board Certified teacher. My passion is family engagement, and I firmly believe that it takes a community and a team to work together to make learning successful.

I speak 3 languages – English, Tagalog, and Spanish. I often try to incorporate them when I teach! I love traveling and learning about other cultures, languages, and I especially love trying food from different countries. I am a big foodie! I am a huge coffee drinker and love getting absorbed in books on my kindle. I recently started a new hobby of crocheting, so I like to crochet as I watch TV or listen to podcasts. In my free time, I love spending time with my family and being active in my church.

I love inspiring and challenging students to be the best that they can be. I am excited about what this new school year can bring!
