Assistant Principal

My name is Dr. Dana Vega and I am very excited to be your 7th-grade Assistant Principal. I am a wife and mother of two. I was born and raised in Fayetteville, NC, where I began my teaching career in 2003. We moved to the Raleigh area in 2018, where I began working at FVMS. 

Educationally, I earned two Associate Degrees from Fayetteville Tech, a Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education (SS/ELA) from Fayetteville State University, a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from UNC-Pembroke, a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in K-12 Education, and my Administration Certification from Appalachian State University. I love continuously learning new things, and I am a true believer that learning is something that is lifelong. 

My teaching experience began in 2003, when I taught 5th grade, then moved up to teach 6th grade ELA/SS, then moved up again to teach 8th grade ELA/SS. I also taught a Journalism class at the middle school level. I ended my 15-year career with Cumberland County Schools teaching Freshman English I. In December of 2018, I began my next chapter by joining the Bengal family and teaching 8th grade ELA/SS. I truly enjoyed my 18 years in the classroom and have truly enjoyed joining the administrative team in 2021. I love the Fuquay community and working alongside my Bengal family !
