The National Junior Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Students will serve during their 8th grade year and are required to complete 10 hours of community service per semester. Students are invited to participate in various activities around the school, including peer tutoring, book sorting and supply pick-up.*To be eligible, students must maintain a 3.8 GPA or higher for all of 6th grade and first semester of 7th grade. Students who meet the grade requirement will receive an invitation to attend an informational meeting during 2nd semester of 7th grade where they will be given an application to complete if they are truly interested in membership. If a student did not attend Salem Middle School for 6th grade, but meets these requirements, please email an advisor. We will check records from the previous school to verify eligibility.
