If you have trouble signing into any of the applications shown here or do not know how to get started, please contact Mr. Caggia for help. Find him in the library or at pcaggia@wcpss.net. *Parents: Please provide the student's full name and the issue you are experiencing. For security, please also include your child's middle name or student ID number.

Help! I'm Brand New. What Do I Do First?
Don't worry. We are here to help. Start with the information on this page.
- Login to the WakeID portal at http://wakeid.wcpss.net.
- See Mr. Caggia in the library if you need your WakeID username, password, or student ID number. You may also email him at pcaggia@wcpss.net.

- Sign into PowerSchool to access your class schedule.
- This webpage has step-by-step directions for logging into PowerSchool. Some of the graphics in this guide may look different, but the steps are the same. This is also how you will sign into PowerSchool to check your grades.
- Join your classes in Google Classroom.
- Many of your teachers use Google Classroom to post assignments. You'll need your schedule to figure out which classes to join.
- Looking at your schedule, you'll need to note the names of your teachers and which Core or Elective they are. So, if you have Mrs. Howland for Core 3, you'll join with her Core 3 code. You will join only one class for each teacher you have.
- You can get the classroom codes you need from your teachers.

- Visit your teachers' websites.
- Each team has a website that has important information for you and your families. Your teachers all have pages connected to your team site. Click the Class Websites link and find and explore your team's website.

Student Learning Devices (Chromebooks and Wi-fi Hotspots)
Chromebooks
All students who are new to WCPSS will receive a Lenovo Chromebook to use in school and at home. A device will be available within a few days of your first day at Salem. Mr. Caggia will let your teachers know when it is here so you can come pick it up. To learn more, visit the district's Guides to Technology website.
Hotspots
Wi-fi hotspots are available to families that do not have wireless internet access in the home. If you need a hotspot, please see Mr. Caggia in the library or email him at pcaggia@wcpss.net.

Get Started with WakeID
The WakeID portal contains all the apps and programs you will use for classroom assignments.
- You will sign into the WakeID portal with your WakeID username and password.

Sign in to PowerSchool/Access my Schedule
Students use PowerSchool to access their schedule and view their grades.
- You will access PowerSchool through the WakeID portal only. Do not search Google for the login screen.
- Sign into the WakeID portal.
- Click on Homebase. The icon says NCEdCloud IAM.
- Enter your student ID number as the username and click Go. Note that this is a different username than you used for WakeID.
- If everything is working correctly, it will NOT ask you for a password. If it asks for a password, start over and be sure you are using the correct username/student ID number.
- When you get in, click on the PowerSchool icon.

Manage my child's personal Chromebook (for Parents)
For schoolwork, your child MUST be signed into a personal Chromebook with his or her school email address (@students.wcpss.net). This account cannot be managed through Family Link.
