Parents and Guardians:

  • Students who are attending Wake Tech in the Fall, Wake Tech has four special scholarships just for Garner Magnet and South Garner High School students planning to attend Wake Tech this fall. These are in addition to the Governor’s Longleaf Scholarships being offered and as specifically for Garner students. All you need to do is complete one scholarship form to be considered for the Garner Economic Development Council Scholarships ($2500 each), the Yeargan Family Foundation Scholarships ($2500 each), as well as all our other scholarships (ranging from $3500 to $500.) The application is available online here: https://www.waketech.edu/wake-tech-foundation/what/scholarships

  • Mr. Matthew Price, the new GMHS principal, will be on campus Thursday, April 28th, from 4:30PM to 5:30PM, in the media center for a floating meet-and-greet session with parents.  His first active day of service will be May 16, 2022. There will be other opportunities to engage with him for any parent who cannot make this greeting.  Currently, he is the principal of Western Harnett High School.

  • Prom Tickets are currently on sale online. They are $50 each and will be available until May 6th. Students may also purchase in person tickets this week on the following days: Monday, Thursday, and Friday in the media center after school. Cash and check will be accepted. Guest forms for guests who do not attend GMHS are due April 30th. They may be turned in to the front office or emailed to aireland@wcpss.net

  • Parents: Please take a moment to complete the Panorama WCPSS Family Survey by May 6th. This survey provides valuable feedback to guide school decisions. The link was sent out via Talking Points but you may also access it at the link below:

  • I sent a special carpool message to all parents this afternoon. Help us with carpooling each day.  I realize that the bus problem this year has put more traffic in the carpool than usual.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.  Let’s show our young people that the adult drivers can honor the carpool guidelines, even though it is often inconvenient.
