Participants were asked to create original artworks inspired by the theme “Women with Wings”. The statewide competition drew 1,000 entries from students representing 155 schools and 150 hometowns. Entries were divided into three age groups. The top three finishers in each age group advance to the national competition, hosted by the National Association of State Aviation Officials in Washington, D.C.

 

We are pleased to announce that 8^th grader Sofia Garcia-Vazquez won 3rd place, and her artwork will advance to the national competition! ​
