At the NCACDA (NC American Choral Directors Association) Conference at Duke University in October 2023, Sam Wanamaker was awarded the Richard G. Cox Award.  This award is given to one Director in NC each year.  The criterion for the award is to have less than 10 years teaching experience, establish high performances and choral repertoire standards, demonstrate the promotion of choral music in the community,  and present characteristics of a master choral director.
