This week is the official beginning of Spring and just two weeks away from the third quarter ending. Please urge your student(s) to submit all work and finish third quarter strong. I also want to remind students and families that WCPSS does have a dress code that should be followed.

Scholarships
March and April are BIG months for scholarships! Many scholarship deadlines are approaching. Check out our scholarship calendar, plus plan other scholarship websites such as cfnc.org, fastweb.com, goingmerry.com, unigo.com, and many more. So much scholarship money is out there, don't be afraid to claim some as your own.
Scholarship opportunity-
What: Robert N. Styres Scholarship Nomination Application
Amount: $5,000.00 award per year, granted $2,500.00 per semester totally up to $20,000
Deadline: April 4, 2025 11:59 pm
Eligibility:
• Attending a 4 or 2 year college in the Fall
• While academic achievement is important, the Scholarship is not necessarily intended for the young man or woman with the highest grade point average. Rather, we try to select a person with good to average grades who is a hard worker and who may have overcome some adversity along the way
Application: Please use this link to access the online application and email it to lpike@wcpss.net by 11:59 pm on or before 4/4/25 or bring to student services by 3/28 at 2:30pm. Student must submit recommendation letters with application but do not need a transcript.
Advanced Placement
Parents of students taking AP courses can sign up to receive information regarding the AP exams by filling out the linked form. If you do not sign up here, then all information will only go to the student by way of the email that their AP classroom is connected to.
Course Registration
Counselors will finished meeting with students regarding choosing classes for next school year early this week. If your student was absent after multiple attends to meet with them the counselor will enter the requests in themselves. Students will receive a course verification sheet on Monday 3/24. This is students' chance to make any changes to their requests. Students should get the form signed by a parent/guardian and return it to student services.
WFHS Booster Club Spirit Day – Come out and support our Athletic Booster Club so they can support our teams. Thursday, March 20th Mod Pizza is supporting our school. Please see this link for details.
