Student Services News
The Department of Education has opened the 2025-2026 FAFSA form to everyone. Senior planning to attend college during the 2025-26 school year may complete the FAFSA now as well as make corrections if needed. Go to studentaid.gov to create an FSA ID. Go to studentaid.gov, go to "Start a New Form" and use the FSA ID to log in to compete the 2024-25 FAFSA. Student Services and the Business Alliance are teaming up to offer a FAFSA Open Lab on December 4th during all Cougar Paws times. Students can sign up to attend at the link below. We will have our Financial Aid Advisor and a representative from Wake Tech available for assistance with the FAFSA. FASFA Open Lab Signup

SENIOR PORTRAITS - AT-SCHOOL, YEARBOOK POSE ONLY EVENT
CADY will be on campus in the media center on Wednesday 12/4 to photograph seniors that have still not had their portraits taken for the yearbook. This event is for seniors that have not been photographed and are only interested in the formal shot used in the yearbook. Anyone wanting to take advantage of this opportunity can reserve their appointment time using the SignUpGenius. Please be aware that any senior that does NOT have their portrait taken by CADY will NOT be in the yearbook. Please make sure you are included! 🙂
LAST DAY TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED
The last day to be photographed and guarantee you will be in the yearbook is FRIDAY DECEMBER 6, 2024. Any seniors photographed after this date are NOT guaranteed to have a senior portrait in the yearbook. DECA Help Needed - Make a lasting impact by volunteering as a judge for a student competition on December 12 at the Raleigh Convention Center! This is your chance to inspire tomorrow's leaders by providing real-world insights and encouraging their growth in problem-solving and communication.
DECA is an excellent organization that fosters career readiness and professional skills among high school students. Through its competitive events, students gain valuable experience and develop skills in areas such as public speaking, critical thinking, and problem-solving within real-world business scenarios.
The District Competition serves as the foundational level where students demonstrate their knowledge and abilities in various career clusters. Students compete in various career-related fields, such as:
- Apparel & Accessories Marketing
- Business Law & Ethics
- Entrepreneurship
- Marketing Communications
- Restaurant & Food Services Marketing
- Sport & Event Marketing
- Travel & Tourism
This competition consists of both a marketing test and a Role-play - Students are given real-life business scenarios to analyze and solve on the spot, presenting their solutions to judges acting as industry professionals.
