WFHS Principal Update - Week of October 28th

Good evening, WFHS Families,

Quarter 1 ends this Thursday, October 31^st.  Please check with your student(s) and PowerSchool regarding your student(s) grades.

Halloween is this week, however, please note that costumes, mask, and Halloween makeup are not allowed at school.

Student Services News

9th-11th Grade Parents' Night is scheduled for Thursday November 14, 2024 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Parents will have the opportunity to attend 3 sessions. Sessions will include promotion/graduation requirements, academic programs WFHS offers, and post high school opportunities related to college, career/employment, and military service. The schedule and session details will be shared next week!

Students interested in Wake Techs College and Career Promise Program have until 11/15 to apply to participate in the Spring 2025 semester. Accepted students can self-register for classes starting 11/4 until 12/1. 

Students in FALL AP classes must have joined their AP classrooms on College Board by 11/1. Joining the classroom automatically registers them for the AP exam. Students that wish to opt out of taking the exam (in May 2025) MUST email lpike@wcpss.net and mcovington@wcpss.net, including their parents stating what exams they are opting out of and why. This MUST also be done by 11/1. 

Student Services and the Business Alliance are teaming up to host our 2024 College Fair. It will be held during all of 3rd period on 11/6 in the media center. Students can sign up to attend by logging in to their WakeID and clicking the link below. Students have until 11/1 to sign up. 2024 College Fair   

The Credit by Demonstrated Mastery (CDM) application open on Monday, October 14.  Please see the CDM Section of the WCPSS website for full information.  Applications are due to the student's counselor by December 20.
