WFHS Principal Update - Week of October 14th

Good evening, WFHS Families,

Tomorrow is a teacher workday, and students will have the day off from school. This week is homecoming week, please see information regarding spirit days below.

2024 Homecoming Spirit Week:

Monday 10/14 - Teacher Workday 
Tuesday 10/15 - Anything But a Bookbag Day. Bring your things to school in anything but a bookbag! (Nothing with wheels allowed and must comply with WCPSS rules and regulations). Be creative!! 
Wednesday 10/16 - Wear orange to support Unity Day! 
Thursday 10/17- Teachers Dress Like Students/Students Dress Like Teachers Day
Friday 10/18 - Color Wars. Wear the color assigned to your grade level. We want to see all the school colors for this Homecoming Friday! 
 (9th-white, 10th - red, 11th - blue, 12th- black)

PreACT - All 10th Grade students will take the PreACT on Thursday, October 24th.  This is a State Mandated Exam.  Please make sure your 10th grade student is on time and in attendance for the exam.  

Student Services News

October is CFNC's Count Down to College Month! Every Wednesday Student Services will be hosting a "College Boot Camp" during Cougar PAWS for the class of '25 graduating students (see attached flyer for details). CFNC Free College Application Week will be October 21st-27th, in which participating NC colleges waive their application fees.

Student Services will be hosting our annual 9-11 grade Parent Night on November 14, from 6-8 pm. More information to come but mark your calendars now!

The Credit by Demonstrated Mastery (CDM) application open on Monday, October 14.  Please see the CDM Section of the WCPSS website for full information.  Applications are due to the student's counselor by October 20. 

Theatre News –

Wake Forest High School Theatre Arts presents Clue: On Stage by Sandy Rustin

Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. Don't miss our amazing student performers and the incredible, student-built set that's full of lots of surprises!

Save the date- Spirit Night October 15 from 2:00--7:00pm at ALPACA.  Let them know you are with Wake Forest High and 20% will be donated back to us. Or use code $0.00 FUNDRAISER item to your cart at checkout.

October 14-19 Giving Tree triple points- Do you have household goods that you would like to donate? Please drop them off at the Giving Tree during this week and Wake Forest gets triple points!
