4. See the note from Coach Markham and our Healthful Living Department:

The Healthful Living Department is participating in the "American Heart Challenge" for the American Heart Association.  One hundred percent of all donations collected through March 15 will go to help the American Heart Association.  Students who raise $20 or more dollars will get a special invite for themselves and a friend to our special "Open Gym Event" held after school in May.  You can use the QR code (below) or go to heart.org/schools to register at LRMS.  Please contact Coach Markham (smarkham@wcpss.net) with any questions.  Thank you for your support!

6.  Leesville plans to fully launch Science Olympiad next school year.  In the meantime, we have decided to host a "Mini-Science-Olympiad" this spring to give our students a taste of this engaging, competitive club.  Our main event will be Saturday morning, April 20 here at the school.  Here is the flyer from Mrs. Maley with a QR code to sign-up:

8.  Athletics Update from LMAC:

Congrats to all the athletes that made spring sports teams (track, softball, boys soccer)!  Families should be sure to purchase season passes to games/meets as well as gear:

Season Passes: www.lmaclions.org (...will be delivered to each coach to give to the athletes.)

Spirit Wear Links (Closes March 18):

***It takes two weeks to get orders in...

Lastly, LMAC is looking for fresh volunteers for next year. The athletic boosters club financially supports the 10 athletic teams, and coaches here at Leesville Road. If your child plays sports here at Leesville Middle, or might next year, this is the perfect opportunity for you to get involved.

If you have questions or want more information, please reach out to LMAC President Heather Stevenson at lmac@lmaclions.org.

9.  PTSA Updates:

* Many Thanks to our Leesville community for filling our Lion Locker pantry with lots of groceries for our students! Pictured is about half of what our generous families have donated to others. Here's the Lion Locker Amazon Wishlist if you wish to contribute:

* We love our Social Worker, Ms Wanda Harris! The LRMS PTSA treated her with a yummy Bundt cake tower during Social Work Appreciation Week! Thank you for all you do to support & empower our students, Ms Harris!

Tuesday, March 19, 6pm - Join us for Leesville Road Middle School Band's "Meet the Instrument!" Night @ the LRMS Bandroom! Enjoy a performance by the LRMS Honors Band, and instrument demonstrations for future 6th grade students to see what instrument might be their best fit - that's right, future students will actually get a chance to try the instruments! And parents will be provided with information regarding equipment, how to rent/purchase instruments, and the opportunities available to your child in our band program.

Wednesday, March 20, 8:30am - PTSA Board meeting in the LRMS Media Center

Have a great weekend!
