Ms. Tiffany Rich - Principal
I am the Principal of Sanford Creek Elementary and was honored to join the “BlueJay nest” six years ago. This is my 24th year in education and my 20th year of experience in year-round schools. Previous roles of mine include teacher, Instructional Resource Teacher and Assistant Principal - all of which have been in WCPSS. I am a product of the Wake Co. School System with fond memories of growing up in Raleigh. I received my undergraduate degree in Child Development from Meredith College and my graduate degrees (Masters of Literacy Studies and Administration) from UNC Chapel Hill. Go Heels! I am a regular “beach goer” with my family and enjoy relaxing by reading, walking on the beach, boating and digging my toes in the sand. At home in Raleigh, most times one would find me working on a home improvement/ decorating project, spending time with family and friends, and loving on my two (twin) cats.
The Sanford Creek staff family cares about the education, experience, and social-emotional well-being of children. I am proud to work alongside of them and partner with families in the work of “Growing ALL Learners and Leaders”.

Ms. Gladys Washington - Assistant Principal
I am honored to be the assistant principal of Sanford Creek Elementary School and thrilled to be a Blue Jay! This is my 24th year as an educator. I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from North Carolina Central University and my graduate degree in School Administration from North Carolina State University. Prior to becoming an assistant principal, I was a classroom teacher with experience in grades one through four. Over the span of my career, I have worked for both Beaufort and Jasper County School Districts in South Carolina, as well as taught in Edgecombe and Harnett County Public Schools. However, the majority of my professional career has been in WCPSS.
I’ve lived in Raleigh most of my life and still enjoy the countless amenities it offers. I have a son who is a graduate student at NC State in Sports Management, Recreation, and Tourism. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, taking long walks, writing poetry, beautifying my yard, and spending time with family and friends. As an advocate for equity, I am passionate about ensuring that all students have equitable access to resources, providing rigorous and engaging learning opportunities, and building strong partnerships with families and students. Since my values and beliefs closely align with the values of this amazing school community, I know this is the perfect home for me. I look forward to creating great memories and working alongside the Sanford Creek Community to inspire lifelong learning, leadership, and excellence!
