I was honored to join the Sanford Creek family nearly two years ago. I have fond memories of growing up in Raleigh and am definitely a girl who sticks close to home. I received my undergraduate degree from Meredith College and my graduate degrees from UNC-CH. Go Heels!  I have worked in Wake County Schools for 20 years, during which I taught first grade, was a curriculum facilitator (IRT), and Assistant Principal. In my spare time, I love to travel to Emerald Isle, NC and relax by reading, walking on the beach, shopping, boating, and digging my toes in the sand!  At home in Raleigh, most times one would find me organizing, decorating, spending time with family and friends, and playing with my twins (cats!).

I sensed it when I first came to Sanford Creek, but KNOW it now...I am the most fortunate principal for having the opportunity to work alongside such a special community of students, teachers & staff, parents, volunteers and Rolesville neighbors!

This is my sixth year as a Blue Jay -- the time has flown! As an educator for over 25 years, I've worked with students on every level from pre-kindergarten through college. At home, I'm halfway to having an "empty nest," with one of my daughters attending UNC-Asheville, and my other daughter staying busy with the life of a 10th grader. When I'm not at school you can find my wife and I taking care of an organic garden which includes a worm farm, shitaake mushroom logs, and a flock of chickens. I also like to grill food over charcoal, make my own sauerkraut, and listen to all kinds of music, especially jazz "from Armstrong to Zorn." I'm looking forward to another great year for Sanford Creek!
