Help! I'm Brand New. What Do I Do First?
Don't worry. We are here to help. Start with the information on this page.
- Login to the WakeID portal at http://wakeid.wcpss.net.
- Contact Mr. Caggia at pcaggia@wcpss.net if you need your WakeID username, password, or student ID number.
- Watch this video to learn about the WakeID portal and how to login.
- Sign into PowerSchool to access your class schedule.
- Watch this video learn how to do this. Please note that your username at the NCEdCloud login screen is your student ID number, not your WakeID.
- Learn how to read your schedule.
- We use an A/B schedule. All classes are divided between two days. On your schedule, you will have four Core classes (Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies) and two Electives. On A days, you'll have two of your Core classes and one of your electives. On B days, you'll have the other two Core classes and Elective. We alternate between A and B days.
- Watch this video to help you figure out what classes you have on A days and B days and what times those classes meet.
- These graphics will also help. The schedules you see here are just samples: 6th grade | 7th grade | 8th grade
- Join your classes in Google Classroom.
- Most of your teachers use Google Classroom to post assignments. You'll need your schedule to figure out which classes to join.
- Looking at your schedule, you'll need to note the names of your teachers and which Core or Elective they are. So, if you have Mrs. Howland for Core 3, you'll join with her Core 3 code. You will join only one class for each teacher you have.
- This document has the all the class code.
- Watch this video to learn how to join classes in Google Classroom and learn how to use its features.
- Visit your teachers' websites.
- In the grade level sections below, you'll find a list of all teachers and links to their websites.
- Visit the website of each of your teachers.
- Make note of how each teacher wants you to join their Google Meet for online class.
- Join your class Google Meet when each class begins.
- Login to the WakeID portal at http://wakeid.wcpss.net.
