My name is Nikki Buxton. I spent most of my life in the Kansas City area. After spending almost four years checking out other parts of the world, my husband and I decided to settle in Durham. We moved here in 2019. I’ve spent most of my adult life working with students who have learning differences. I began my career as an IA at Leesville in 2021. Hello all! I grew up in New Hampshire where I spent my time riding horses, skiing, and spending time outside in the mountains and lakes. I graduated from the University of New Hampshire then spent a few years living in San Diego, Ca. I relocated to Pennsylvania where I met my now husband. We traveled back to my hometown in the Mount Washington Valley, NH, where we had our 2 daughters. Done with cold weather, we landed here in North Carolina in 2014 and have called it home ever since. After years of experience in retail management, children's mental health case management, and medical scheduling/reception, In 2018 I began working in special education services as an instructional assistant and fell in love. I currently spend a lot of my time watching my own daughters play soccer. When we have a free Friday night, we can be found watching my husband's football games.
