As the only school of the Arts in WCPSS and a hidden gem in North Raleigh, we offer students a unique environment to explore creativity. Students engage in standards-based arts-integrated lessons designed to engage and excite the learner. As students explore three electives per day, their learning is grounded in creativity. Students explore their creative interests alongside frequent guest artists and can take a deep dive into various arts disciplines in our double-period guild arts electives.

Students who engage in creative arts benefit from an emphasis on learning and expression by integrating the arts in all areas. Our full-time arts integration specialist collaborates with classroom teachers to help bring the arts into math, science, social studies, and language arts. Multiple research studies have indicated that students who regularly engage in the arts in K-12 settings show increased empathy, attendance, and academic achievement. Many students at the Academy go on to further their interest in the arts at Millbrook High School, our pathway high school.
The Academy provides students numerous creative opportunities designed to engage the learner and increase their love of learning. The arts are embedded into core learning utilizing standards-based arts-integrated experiences. Three electives per day provide students with numerous opportunities to explore their talents and interests. Frequent guest artists teach and learn alongside students and model artistic expertise for our young artists. Learn more about our academy.
