The game will start at 6:00 PM and conclude at 7:30 PM.

Good afternoon, this is Eric Fitts, principal of East Millbrook Academy of the Visual and Performing Arts and I have a few announcements to share today.

Starting tomorrow, the positivity project word of the week is integrity. It is defined as someone being honest and speaking the truth. Also, one presents themselves genuinely and sincerely. Ask your child, this week, about the word and how they apply it in their daily decisions.

Last chance to order spirit wear is today, Sunday, October 7! You can purchase spirit wear, join the PTSA, and make a donation through our online school store: https://emillbrook.memberhub.store/. Be sure to visit our webpage and like us on Facebook for the most recent PTSA information.

Also, we will have our Open House that evening. Parents will have a chance to go every class period that their child attends and meet the teacher. Please report to your child’s 1st period/homeroom class at 6:00 PM and you’ll be given their schedule. You will transition to every class period to meet every teacher that supports the teaching and learning for your child. We look forward to seeing you that evening.

Please note the school policy for signing students out early during the school day. For a safe and orderly dismissal, we will not be checking students out of school after 1:45 PM. We need families to support this expectation so that we can ensure that teachers are able to teach until the end of the school day and students are maximizing their learning in class. Thank you for your assistance and cooperation.

I am asking that you all consider staying connected to the school by opting to receive text messages from School Messenger. The text messages will only be sent to people who opt in.      We notice more students on campus prior to 7:00 AM. Please be aware that school doors are not opened and supervision doesn’t begin until that 7:00 AM time. Please help us keep your children safe by keeping them with you until school starts.

Good afternoon, this is Eric Fitts, the proud principal of East Millbrook Academy of the Visual and Performing Arts Magnet Middle School.

We have had a great week of learning and teaching and I appreciate all of the support from families adjusting to this new school year.

Please enjoy this Labor Day tomorrow. Labor Day, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

Students are able to arrive to East Millbrook at 7:00 AM and dismissal begins at 2:15 PM. Please check the bus routes that are posted on line if you have questions about routes and pick –up and drop off times for your neighborhood. Also, please make sure your child knows how they are supposed to get home each afternoon.

If you are a car pool parent, please help us by pulling all the way up through the lane so that we can maximize the space and serve as many students as we can. There are adults holding ‘Stop’ and ‘Go’ signs in the lane to assist you with this expectation. The directions given are truly in an effort to keep everyone safe and help students move in an orderly fashion. Your support will truly be appreciated.

As always, thank you for partnering with us to ensure that your student has the best educational experience at East Millbrook. Have a great afternoon and a wonderful week.

Good afternoon, this is Eric Fitts, the proud principal of the East Millbrook - Academy of the Visual and Performing Arts Magnet Middle School.

We were delighted to see so many students and families at our orientation last Thursday.  It was a great day with a lot of positive energy from all stakeholders.  We truly appreciate your attendance at the event and we look forward to this continued partnership throughout the school year.

Tomorrow, we are looking forward to having a great day.  For students who wish to have breakfast, they can report directly to the cafeteria.  If students don’t want to have breakfast, they should report directly to their homeroom class.  The sixth grade students are in the 800 building; the seventh grade students are in the 100 building or the 600 modular, and the eighth grade students are in the 900 building.  If a student is unsure of the building they should report to, there is no need to worry.  We will have several staff members that will be on campus directing students to their building and once inside the building, there will be more teachers and counselors assisting students as they report to their homeroom.  Once students get to their homeroom class, they will be given their daily schedules from that teacher.

The doors will open for East Millbrook at 7:00 AM and the dismissal time is 2:15 PM.  Please check the bus routes that are posted on line if you have questions about bus transpotation, whether that is the pick–up and/or the drop off times for your neighborhood.  Also, please make sure your child knows how they are supposed to get home tomorrow afternoon.

Last, please be patient as we work through new arrival and dismissal procedures.  Our intent is to dismiss in a safe and orderly fashion.  Please help us with these transitions and follow the directions given by the adults holding the stop and go signs on campus during arrival and dismissal times.

I want to thank you for partnering with us to ensure that your student has the best educational experience at East Millbrook.  Have a great afternoon and a wonderful week.
