    Good afternoon, this is Eric Fitts, principal of East Millbrook Academy of the Visual and Performing Arts with a few announcements.

     

    Join us for a meeting of the WCPSS District 3 Board Advisory Council. Glenn Carrozza, Director of Student Assignment and Tim Simmons, Chief of Communications will give a presentation on Enrollment projections for Wake County schools.

     

    When: Monday February 11 at 6:00 pm

    Where: Wakefield High School

    Our PBIS store is in need of Individual packages of Taki’s, fruit by the foot, blow pops/ring pops full size candy bars, skittles and Gatorade. If you can, please send your donation to the front office and label it for PBIS store. You can also use the sign up genius that is on the schools homepage.

     

    Be sure to turn in all your Boxtops to your homeroom teacher by Friday, February 15.

     

    Save the dates for our next McTeacher Night on Thursday, March 7 and our Book Fair on March 18-March 22.

    Friday, February 15 is an Early Release day. The students will be dismissed at 11:45 AM that day.

    Also, next Monday, February 18 is a teacher workday. The students will not have school on that day.

    Good afternoon, this is Eric Fitts, principal of East Millbrook Academy of the Visual and Performing Arts with a few announcements.

     

    Spring Pictures and Club Pictures for the yearbook will be taken on Wednesday, February 6th.

     

    For 8th grade parents, we will have our 8th Grade Parent Night from 6:00 – 7:00 PM in the auditorium. Representatives from Millbrook High School and Wake Forest High School will be here. You will learn more information about high school registration for the class of 2023. Light snacks will be provided from Zaxby’s.

     

    We have a home basketball game on Thursday, February 7 against Carroll Middle School. The games will begin at 4:00 PM and we hope you are able to attend and support the Cougars. This is our ‘Think Pink’ game for Cancer Awareness and donations will be accepted for donation to the Kay Yow Foundation.

     

    We appreciate all the families that were able to attend Skate Night last Friday. The kids had a great time and there was a great turn-out for the event. Thanks again for your support of the PTSA of East Millbrook.

    For all car pool parents; we want you to be mindful that we have a two lane system as you enter the school from Spring Forest Road. The cones are in the middle of the lanes so that cars can travel side by side. Then as you come to the corner by the 800 building, the lanes will merge into one. Please be a good neighbor while using the lanes and help us keep all kids safe during arrival and dismissal times.

    Good afternoon, this is Eric Fitts, principal of East Millbrook Academy of the Visual and Performing Arts with a few announcements.

     

    We have a home basketball game on Thursday, January 31 against Leesville Road Middle School. The games will begin at 4:00 PM and we hope you are able to attend and support the Cougars.

     

    Theatre at East Millbrook presents Thumbelina by Hans Christian Anderson, adapted by Wade Bradford on January 31 at 7:00 PM and February 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Auditorium. Admission at the door, $5.00 Adults, $3.00 Students with concessions available in the lobby. Hope to see you there!

     

    We’re looking forward to the second Cougar Day on Friday, February 1st. We will have career speakers, honor roll assemblies, the PBIS celebrations and much more. Please ask your children about their experience when they get home on Friday afternoon.

     

    The PTSA’s next spirit night is Friday, February 1st from 6-9 at United Skates! The funds raised help support students and the Cultural Arts at East Millbrook. Hope to see you there.

    Good afternoon, this is Eric Fitts, principal of East Millbrook Academy of the Visual and Performing Arts with a few announcements.

     

    We had a great turn-out at the Family Information Day on Friday and we want to thank all of you that were able to attend. We look forward to a great start to the second semester on Tuesday, January 22.

     

    Tomorrow is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and it is a holiday that is observed on the third Monday of January each year, which is around MLK's birthday, January 15. Please enjoy this day of service and reflect upon the sacrifices by this great man.

     

    Thank you to everyone who attended our Chick-fil-A night! Every little bit helps our PTSA support programs like PBIS and cultural arts. Our next spirit night is Friday, February 1st from 6-9 at United Skates! Hope to see you there.

    Good afternoon, this is Eric Fitts, principal of East Millbrook Academy of the Visual and Performing Arts with a few announcements.

     

    This Spring at East Millbrook, we will be having another season of Heart and Sole, which is a girls mentoring program that incorporates training for a 5k in April. Lessons include topics such as self-esteem, confidence and problem solving. The season will begin the week of February 4. Girls do not need to have any running experience. Registration for the program needs to be completed by Monday, January 14. Financial assistance and a few scholarships are available. Please email Karen Wilson (krwilson@wcpss.net) or Patty Korman (pkorman@wcpss.net) for more information and to register.

     

    We have a home basketball game on Monday, January 14 against Wakefield Middle. The Girls game will begin at 4:00 PM and the Boys game will start immediately upon their conclusion. Come out and cheer on the Cougars if you can.

     

    There is a PTSA Board Meeting at 6:30 PM, on Tuesday January 15 in the media center. All are welcome to attend.

     

    Please save the date. The PTSA will be sponsoring Chick-fil-A Night on Thursday, January 17. The Chick-fil-A that is hosting us is located at 4621 Capital Blvd. and it will start at 5:00 PM. Please join us that evening for fun and fellowship while supporting the students.

     

    Friday, January 18 is a Teacher Workday and there is no school for students. However, this is our mid-year schedule pick-up opportunity for families. Please join us between 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the school. You will be able to get your childs second semester schedule, meet new teachers, get updates on the second semester academic expectations, refresh your knowledge and use of PowerSchools and much more. Also, with your attendance, you will be able to get a light lunch. Please join us this Friday between 11:00 and 1:00.

    Good afternoon, this is Eric Fitts, principal of East Millbrook Academy of the Visual and Performing Arts with a few announcements.

     

    Happy New Year and welcome back to school. We look forward to having a great start to the 2019 calendar year with all students.

     

    We have a home basketball game on Monday, January 7 against West Millbrook Middle. The Girls game will begin at 4:00 PM and the Boys game will start immediately upon their conclusion. Come out and cheer on the Cougars if you can.

     

    Our Dance Company will have their performance on Thursday, January 10. It will be held at 7:00 PM in the auditorium and the performances will be led by Mrs. Beres.

    Good afternoon, this is Eric Fitts, principal of East Millbrook Academy of the Visual and Performing Arts with a few announcements.

     

    Thank you to everyone who purchased Spirit Wear from the PTSA. Orders have been placed and should be delivered before the holiday break. Thank you for your patience! Did you miss the deadline? You have a second chance! The PTSA will be selling spirit wear before the concert on Thur 13th.

     

    Also, please save Boxtops from cereal boxes, snack boxes, or etc. Boxtops really help contribute to various activities for our staff and students. For a list of products with Boxtops, please visit: https://www.boxtops4education.com/ "

     

    We have a home basketball game on Thursday, December 13 against Pine Hollow Middle and the games will begin at 4:00 PM. Come out and cheer on the Cougars if you can.

     

    Also, on that day, we have our Orchestra Concert on Thursday, December 13 at 7:00 PM. The concert will be led by Ms. Luke and it will be held in the auditorium.

     

    Our Band Concert has been rescheduled and it will be held on Tuesday, December 18 at 6:30 PM. The concert will be led by Mrs. Murphy and it will be in the auditorium.

     

    Friday, December 21 is an early release day. Please plan accordingly for your child’s dismissal at 11:45 AM.

    Good afternoon, this is Eric Fitts, principal of East Millbrook Academy of the Visual and Performing Arts with a few announcements.   

     

    The EMMMS PTSA would like to say thank you to all of the parents and students who came to support Skate Night on November 16th. We hope you all enjoyed yourselves.     You shall be receiving the 2nd Quarter Interim reports on Wednesday, December 5th.  Please touch base with your childs homeroom teacher or grade level guidance counselor if you would like to have a conference with any of the teachers that support your childs learning. 

     

    We have our first home basketball game on Thursday, December 6 and the games will begin at 4:00 PM.  Come out and cheer on the Cougars if you can.

    Also, we have our Chorus Concert on Thursday, December 6 at 7:00 PM.  The concert will be led by Mr. Rahsaan McNeill and be held in the auditorium. 

     

    The East Millbrook Arts Booster Organization will be partnering with Barnes & Noble at Triangle Town Center for a one of a kind event on December 7, 2018. Student artists will be celebrating the holidays with themed performances inspired by the children's book The Polar Express.  The performances will start at 5:30 PM and conclude around 8:00 PM that evening. 

     

    Also, a percentage of all in-store sales from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM will benefit our awesome arts programs, with online sales extending through December 12. Simply mention East Millbrook Arts at checkout!

     

    Attention 8th grade parents: The next payment of $60 for the Washington, DC trip is due on Dec 7th.  Payments can be made online or to Mrs. Franklin before or after school.

    Good afternoon, this is Eric Fitts, principal of East Millbrook Academy of the Visual and Performing Arts and I have a few announcements to share today. 

     

    Tomorrow is school picture make-up day.  Any student that did not take a picture last month, has an opportunity to take pictures tomorrow.  Students will be called by grade level to report to the auditorium to take their pictures. 

     

    Tuesday, November 20 is an early release day.  The students will be dismissed from school at 11:45 AM.  Please make sure your child knows how they will get home that afternoon. 

     

    We will be recognizing the Thanksgiving Holiday from Wednesday, November 21 – Friday, November 23 so there will be no school on those days.  I hope that you all have a wonderful break.
