Coding Club

The Wake STEM Coding Club is a club in which students can connect with fellow coders. We share ideas, projects, and important dates for internships, hackathons, and other tech news. Usually, we meet on Tuesdays after school, but due to the timing of AP exams, it will be on Wednesdays after school from 2:30-3:15 PM. All skill levels are welcome to come and participate. We occasionally have speakers from various local companies.

Debate Club

Debate Club is a place for people to express their opinions in a structured, but fun, setting. We will be playing debate-related games to practice public speaking skills and quick thinking. Our goal is to allow the students of Wake STEM Early College to discuss controversial topics in a safe environment, such as whether zoos should be banned for animal cruelty or if children should have access to violent video games.

Our club is all about being chill and having fun. We plan the Smash Tournaments in collaboration with Student Council's Funtivity Nights. We host international tournaments for games such as League of Legends. This club is for all types of gamer to discuss and hangout with other gamers.

We try to emphasize sustainability efforts for the school. Our club has grown plants, participated as the only high school club at NCSU's annual Earth Fair, and clean up Rocky Branch trail MM 2-3. Come join us!

The Wake Stem Jazz Combo is the perfect opportunity for students to express their musical talent in a school just focused on STEM. For incoming students who worry about having no music opportunities, the Jazz combo is the perfect option for you. We will be performing at fundraising events, the talent show, and school picnics! Our club is selective, only having a maximum of 7 members. We want anyone who can play instruments like drums, saxophones, trumpets, trombone, piano, guitar, and upright bass.

Techno Wolves FRC Team 5518 is a high school student-led FIRST Robotics Competition team based in Apex, North Carolina. We are an eighth-year community-based team that recruits from Wake STEM Early College High School and other local schools. Techno Wolves serves as a valuable learning experience to all of our members; the team structure is based off of an existing model in the corporate world, giving members an early, competitive edge when applying for jobs and college. Our robotics team allows for students to learn about business, leadership, robotics, mechanical skills, programming, and more.
