• General Transportation Guidance

The 2024-25 cut off date for eligible families in Traditional calendar schools to request transportation to ensure service on the first day of school must have requested bus service by July 15, 2024. Decisions on the family's request including neighborhood or express service as determined by student's school assignment were received via email to families on August 16, 2024.

For families who request transportation services after the cutoff date, bus service is not guaranteed for the beginning of the school year. Requests received after these cutoff dates will be processed in the order received. Transportation will make every effort to provide service using existing bus stops as quickly as possible.

    • Decline Transportation

If your student is assigned to a bus but is not a bus rider, please submit a decline transportation form so we have the most up-to-date information.   Note: Submitting this form will remove your student from both yellow bus and vendor (cab) transportation service for the school year selected.

    • Students with Special Needs

Families of children who are in transition, have Individual Education Plans (IEPs), or have plans under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (504) may need to request special transportation, as they move into the community or change address. These families will need to enroll their child in the new school or notify their current school of the address change and inform school staff of their child's IEP, 504 plan or request assistance through the McKinney-Vento Program if the living situation is in transition.

    Request an Alternate Bus Stop

After the first month of school, transportation-eligible bus riders may request service to a before or after school care provider for the duration of the school year as an alternative to their student's home address of record. Requests are reviewed in the order received, and any approval for an alternate stop is for the current school year only. Parents/Guardians must resubmit each year.

Requesting Service for a Transportation-Ineligible Student

After the first month of school, families with students who are ineligible (school assignment requires parents to provide transportation) for school bus transportation may request service. Requests are reviewed in the order received and any approval is for the current school year only. Parents/Guardians must resubmit each year. As priority is given to requests for transportation-eligible students, it may take several weeks to process your request.

    Magnet Express Stop

Parents provide transportation to and from express stops, which are typically located at sites such as schools or community centers.

For families who request an alternate express stop after the cut off date of July 15, 2024, bus service to the alternate express stop is not guaranteed. Requests received after these cutoff dates will be processed in the order received. It is also possible that the request will not be approved if the alternate bus stop is on a route that does not have available seating capacity.

Any approval for an alternate stop is for the current school year only. Parents/Guardians must resubmit each year.

We urge parents to be patient as routes settle at the start of the school year. Please do not submit duplicate requests as this will delay our ability to respond to your initial request.
