    Digital AP Exams
AP exams are a mixture of in-person, on paper and at-home, digital exams this year. Digital AP Exams will start May 18thThe complete testing schedule can be found below. All digital exams will be taken at home this year unless you were approved by the AP Coordinator to take the exam digitally at school. Students taking Digital AP exams need to make sure they have the 2021 Digital AP Exams Application downloaded onto their WCPSS, school-issued Chromebook. If you have a school-issued Chromebook, the application should already be downloaded onto the device. If you are using a personal PC or Mac computer, you will need to download the application yourself. Directions for finding the app on your school-issued Chromebook and downloading the app onto your PAC/Mac can be found in the Directions for Downloading Digital Testing App. Personal Chromebooks are not permitted to use for digital AP exams this year.

Completing Exam Setup 1–3 Days Before Each Digital Exam
For each digital AP Exam students take, they must complete the exam setup step in the digital testing app. This step loads their exam onto the computer they’re going to test with. Completing this step is required 1–3 days before each exam. Without taking this step for each exam, students will not be able to test. You must complete exam setup on the computer you will use for testing. If you’re taking more than one exam, remember that you need to complete exam setup for each digital exam subject you plan to take. Exam setup opens 3 calendar days before each digital exam, and you must complete setup no later than the day before the exam. You can find more information here.

Seniors need to sign into "My AP" to indicate which college, university, or scholarship program they’d like to send their free score report to. Students indicate their free score report recipient only through My AP; students no longer indicate this information on their answer sheets. The deadline for students to indicate or change their free score report recipient is June 20, 2021

Students must join their teacher's AP Classroom in order to register for their AP Exam. Deadlines to join, and therefore register, are below:
1st semester and yearlong courses: October 30th
    2nd semester coursesFebruary 26th

The College Board has given schools 3 different options to administer AP exams this year. Athens Drive will be utilizing Administration 2 which takes place May 18th-May 28th. This is the best option to ensure social distancing can be done properly and that works best with our school schedule. We will have a mix of students taking their exam(s) at home, digitally and at school, on paper. The only exception is that AP Physics will be given during Administration 1 on May 5th. This is to reduce the number of students on campus on May 24th. The AP exam schedule for Athens Drive High School is as follows:

  • AP Capstone Program

Athens Drive is excited to be a part of the AP Capstone™ Program. Here are some highlights of the AP Capstone™ Program for Athens Drive:

    • The AP Capstone Program is currently open to 10th and 11th graders.
    • Any rising 10th grader can register during open registration, but priority for the course is given to students who are nominated by teachers and staff at Athens Drive.
    • Rising 11th graders must have already taken the AP Seminar course as 10th graders in order to register.  These students will register for AP Research and AP Environmental Science.
    • The purpose of the AP Capstone™ course is to support students who may not traditionally select AP courses but who have the capability of performing at the AP level with a strong foundation.
    • Students in the Athens Program will be able to earn either an AP Capstone™ Certificate or AP Capstone™ Diploma (see below).

A Description of the AP Capstone Program from the Collegeboard:

AP Capstone Quote AP Capstone™ is an innovative diploma program from the College Board that equips students with independent research, collaborative teamwork, and communication skills that are increasingly valued by colleges. AP Capstone is built on the foundation of two AP courses — AP Seminar and AP Research — and is designed to complement and enhance the in-depth, discipline-specific study experienced in other AP courses.  In AP Seminar, students investigate real-world issues from multiple perspectives, gathering and analyzing information from various sources in order to develop credible and valid evidence-based arguments. In AP Research, students cultivate the skills and discipline necessary to conduct independent research in order to produce and defend a scholarly academic thesis. Students who earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research and on four additional AP Exams of their choosing will receive the AP Capstone Diploma. Students who earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research but not on four additional AP Exams will receive the AP Seminar and Research Certificate. AP Seminar may also be taken as a stand-alone option.

The Capstone Program at Athens Drive

    • This foundational, cross-curricular course is designed to equip students with the power to analyze and evaluate information with accuracy and precision in order to create effective evidence-based arguments. Students will examine real-world topics from multiple sources and points of view and will use this research to form their own perspectives. Students will then communicate their ideas through written essays and presentations.  Students will complete a three-part AP assessment process:  team project and presentation, individual research-based essay and presentation, and AP Exam.
