Principal's Message September 2018
Thank you so much for your support this first week of school. We’ve had a great opening this year because of our awesome students, parents, and staff. Let’s keep it up.
A special thank you to those patient parents in carpool this week. Things are always a little slower the first week of school but you’ve been patient and kind with each other and with us – thank you so much.
A few reminders and clarifications for transportation that are helpful:
1. Carpool enters at the far end of campus, circles to the back and loops around. Kindergarten students dismiss in the traffic circle so watch for stopped cars as you pull around. Again, patience is requested.
2. Buses move a little slower the first month of school so thank you for your patience at bus stops as well. Remember that bus stop information can be found in POWERSCHOOL. If you need help setting up an account online, please come into the office or contact Ms. Kharbat for assistance.
Kindergarten classes will be created at the end of staggered entry Thursday afternoon/Friday morning. Teachers will then begin calling parents. Kindergarten students will have their first full day on Tuesday, September 4.
Tears and Cheers will be in the Media Center during the arrival time on September 4 for all K parents to get more info on PTA and to celebrate your child’s first full day in K. Please join us!
Patience on Tuesday, Sept. 4 everyone as all of our 100+ kindergartners will have their first full day of school!
Please remember that health assessments for new students must be turned in and all immunization records must be submitted within 30 days of enrollment. Contact the front office for more info.

Please remember to put names in jackets, sweaters, lunch boxes, etc to keep our lost and found to a minimum this year. Thank you for your help!
A word about The Positivity Project ……
Green Elementary will formally work with the Positivity Project this school year. Green joins a growing number of schools collaborating with this organization to support building positive relationships with our youth. Our goal through this collaboration, our work with the Leader in Me, and our new work this year with restorative practices in the classroom is to model positive relationships for our students and to coach them in building positive relationships with each other. Look for more information about this exciting partnership in the coming weeks.
Thank you for all you do!
