• Dr. Annice Williams, Principal

    Williams

Dr. Annice Williams is the 2022-23 Wake County Public School System Principal of the Year!

She is exceptionally grateful for the education she received from public schools in North Carolina, from her kindergarten start at Peterson Elementary, to her high school graduation from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, to her completion of three degrees at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is dedicated to "paying it forward" through her service as a public school educator, and cannot imagine there is any work she could love more!

Dr. Williams has thoroughly enjoyed her career in the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) over the last 25+ years. Bugg Magnet Elementary Center for Design and Computer Sciences is the fourth WCPSS elementary school where she has served as principal. She loves using technology tools to enhance her work and communication, and has recently been using the principles of design thinking in the courses she teaches at East Carolina University, so she is excited to use her experiences to support our magnet program.

Strong relationships with students, families, and staff are very important to Dr. Williams. She loves to get to know her students so she can ensure their school is a place they enjoy. Dr. Williams also prioritizes family engagement. She believes all students will be successful when families and school staff build strong collaborative partnerships to support the learning of each child. She also recognizes that she can only be successful in her role by ensuring every staff member has the support they need to succeed in theirs.

When Dr. Williams is not at school, you can find her spending time with her husband. Together, they enjoy working in their church, traveling, and having fun with their godchildren. She also loves to do activities with her friends and family, including running, reading books, and being together (even if it can only be online).

Dr. Williams is honored to be part of the Bugg Family!
