Beautiful orchestral music can be heard throughout the arts hallway each day. Small class sizes in our orchestra program provide students with personalized instruction. Students learn to play acoustic instruments and also explore electric string instruments like the ones pictured above.  Orchestra students often represent East Millbrook at various magnet events, and district events, and collaborate with other musicians across our state.

The Academy is the only middle school in WCPSS to offer Magnet Honors Orchestra as a daily double-period elective class.

Orchestra students often have guest clinicians, including musicians from NC Symphony, NC Universities, and other professional settings.

In the Winter of 2024 Orchestra students were honored to have songwriter and Cellist Shana Tucker as an Artist in Residence
