Hi!  My name is Amy Watkins and I am so happy to be a part of the LES Team!  Born and raised in California, I graduated from Saint Mary’s College of California (Go Gaels!) with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal and Civic Studies and later, earned a K-5 Multiple Subject teaching credential.  I alternated teaching first and second grades for 9 years in California.  In 2011, I stepped away from teaching to be home with our two children.  A short time later, my husband and I decided to make the short move (Ha!) to North Carolina.  Lucky for us, we landed at Leesville just in time for our oldest to start Kindergarten.  Now that both of our kids are in school and thriving, I am excited to return to the classroom as a 1st grade teacher here at Leesville!

I'm originally from New Jersey and I'm still a Jersey Girl through and through. I earned my BS from William Paterson University in 1985. My husband Bill and I have been married since 1990. We moved to NC in 1994.  I have been working as an Instructional Assistant since 2000, I have been at Leesville since 2004.  My only daughter, Amanda, is a high school science teacher.  In my spare time I love spending time with my family, hiking with Nickie, my black lab, reading, going to the beach, or going out on our boat.  I'm looking forward to a great year at Leesville!
