• Davis Drive Middle School

Davis Drive Middle School was built in 1995 and shares a campus with Davis Drive Elementary School. This building housed West Cary Middle School for the 1995-1996 school year while their facility was being renovated. Approximately 100 sixth graders were assigned to Davis Drive Middle for that fall with the understanding that they would remain when Davis Drive opened the next year with West Cary returning to their own building. Davis Drive Middle officially opened for the 1996-1997 school year in the Cary/Apex area of Wake County. It opened with grades six and seven and housed the ninth grade from Apex High School. The first year that the school was open ran smoothly despite two schools sharing the facility. The second year proved to be more challenging when eighth grade was added. Both groups were glad to return to separate campuses for the 1998-1999 school year.
