Principal Dilts' Weekly Update - 11/17/24
November 17, 2024,
Good afternoon! This is Janiece Dilts, proud principal of Broughton High School.
Schedule: Students will have a 30 minute advisory class after 1st period on Wednesday, November 20.
Community Service Opportunity: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Carolinas awareness and fundraising office is excited to introduce the St. Jude Leadership Society (SJLS) – Raleigh cohort. Since its inception in 2017, SJLS has expanded to more cities each year. Their Charlotte cohort, now in its 4th year, had 36 students who raised $80,178 and logged 750 service hours last year. They’re thrilled to launch the Raleigh cohort this school year!
SJLS is designed for high school students and a mentor (typically a parent) to participate in four monthly sessions from January to April, held on Sundays from 1 pm to 4 pm. Students will develop leadership skills while raising awareness and funds for St. Jude. Those who raise $3,000 or more are invited to the St. Jude NextGen Experience in Memphis with peers and mentors nationwide.
This program not only enhances college applications but also fosters a deeper appreciation for community involvement and philanthropy.
They would love to welcome students from Broughton to apply for this unique and rewarding program! Applications for the St. Jude Leadership Society – Raleigh are now open. Students can apply here. The deadline is November 20.
