    Ms. Gretchen Gleason

Gretchen Gleason joins Broughton Magnet High School as a part-time college and career counselor this year. She is a proud graduate of Syracuse University where she studied Advertising, Spanish, and Italian. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa, she went to work for advertising giant McCann Erickson in NYC. Realizing that she would rather sell education than products, Gretchen took a job in the Admissions office at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. During her time there she developed relationships with students and counselors which revealed her true passion for working with kids. She then went on to become a college counselor at the Lovett School in Atlanta. On a whim, Gretchen headed to San Diego, California to continue her counseling work at the Bishop’s School. After six years she became the Director of College Counseling at Bishop’s. Her husband’s career later led their family back east to Cary, NC where she now spends her time volunteering at her children’s elementary school and reading applications for NYU in the winter. Gretchen has three young children and the world’s cutest corgi.
