Weekly Memo: Good evening Silver Hawk families, this is Principal Carter Hillman with your Weekly Memo:
- All information provided in this Memo is posted on the VMCCA website under the “Principal’s Message.”
- This week is Teacher Appreciate Week. This would be a great time to thank your VMCCA teachers for all they do for you.
- Block Party tomorrow, Monday, May 6th. Those in carpool, please be advised that this event will have some impact on the afternoon carpool.
- AP Students and Parents: AP testing runs from May 6th to May 17th. Students must take the exams or pay a $40 unused exam fee. Exams are at 8:00 am or 12:00 pm and end after dismissal. Students need to arrange transportation for afternoon exams. The schedule is available on the VMCCA website. Arrive 30 minutes early to testing locations. Contact Tracy Taylor at ttaylor5@wcpss.net for questions.
- Seniors: The Senior Lunch has been set for next Friday, May 10th in the gymnasium during lunchtime. All seniors are invited to attend.
- Seniors and Parents: The VMCCA Senior Awards ceremony is scheduled for next Monday, May 6th in the gymnasium at 6:00 PM. Seniors and Junior Marshalls are to report to the Media Center by 5:00 PM.
- Students: All students are to report to Mandatory Hawks Nest starting next Friday, May 10th through Wednesday, May 15th. The schedule will be May 10th - Fourth Period Classes; May 13th - First Period Classes; May 14th - Second Period Classes; and May 15th Third Period Classes.
- Parents: The Spring Exam Schedule has been posted on the VMCCA Website. Look for the link on the green banner on the homepage.
- Parents: Wake County Public Schools is administering a District Wide Family Survey through Friday, May 12th. This survey provides families the opportunity to provide valuable information and a high-quality data source for planning and School Improvement. The survey has been translated into various languages; Spanish, Arabic, French, Korean, Vietnamese, and Chinese to provide accessibility to families in Wake County Public Schools. The survey administration language can be chosen by families before taking the survey. The link to access the survey can be found through the Principal’s Message: surveys.panoramaed.com/wakecounty/family. You can also access the link by going to the VMCCA webpage and look for the green banner on the homepage.
- Senior Parents and Students: A reminder that for Seniors to be exempt from teacher-made final exams, students must have a “B” or higher average and have ten or fewer absences for the class.
- The PTSA would like to send a special thanks to all who participated in the “no-fuss fundraiser. The group raised $875 for next year's teacher microgrants! Also, the PTSA wants to make exams a little bit nicer for our students by providing Exams Survival Snack basket again this semester. Please consider donating snacks or volunteering to assemble the baskets up at the link on the principal's message, and drop off your contribution on or before Wednesday, May 15.
