Weekly Memo:  Good evening Silver Hawk families, this is Principal Carter Hillman with your Weekly Memo:

  • All information provided in this Memo is posted on the VMCCA website under the “Principal’s Message.”
  • Parents: The VMCCA PTSA’s annual No-Fuss Fundraiser kicked off this week. The purpose of the fundraiser is to provide much needed instructional equipment for our classrooms that enhance the learning experience. This school year, we were able to fund four teacher requests for classroom equipment, and we look forward to providing even more in the future. You can find a link to the fundraiser on the Principal’s message (https://app.memberhub.gives/295f4d), the PTSA page, and a flyer that has been sent home with your student.
  • The VMCCA Senior Trip is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, April 15th to the North Carolina Zoo.  This will be a full-day trip.  Students will attend a Senior Breakfast on the VMCCA campus prior to leaving for the day.  Students are expected back on campus around 5:30 PM.
  • AP Parents and Students: This Saturday, April 20th, the AP teachers at VMCCA are hosting practice test sessions. It will run from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM with exams being offered in the morning and afternoon. Please speak with your AP teachers for more information!
  • Parents and Students:  VMCCA's Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy is holding a pet supply drive to benefit a couple of local animal rescues. Donate dog food, cat food, treats, toys, and cleaning supplies such as bleach, laundry detergent, and wipes. Items can be dropped off in the front office. The drive will run from Monday, April 29th until Friday, May 3rd. For every 5 items donated, students will be entered into a drawing for one of three gift card prizes (Bags of pet food = 5 items).
  • Parents and Students: VMCCA is proud to announce its inaugural Project-Base Learning Event Night on Tuesday, April 30th.  The event is scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on the VMCCA campus.  Parents and students are encouraged to support the school’s endeavor in Recycling and Sustainability.
  • Parents and Students:  We have four weeks remaining until we begin final exams for the Spring Semester.  Now would be a great time to review PowerSchool information.
  • Keep your students safe, keep in contact with your teachers, and have a good evening.
