Weekly Memo:  Good evening Silver Hawk families, this is Principal Carter Hillman with your Weekly Memo:

  • All information provided in this Memo is posted on the VMCCA website under the “Principal’s Message.”

  • This is a reminder that all traditional schools start back to school tomorrow, Monday, August 29th.  There will be more traffic on the roads.  Please plan accordingly as first period classes start at 7:25 AM.  Many students received tardies to first period classes due to late arrival to school.

  • This Friday, September 2nd, is a Wake County Early Release Day for students.  All VMCCA students will be released at 11:48 AM.  Please plan accordingly for student pickup.

  • There will be no school for students and staff next Monday, September 5th, due to the Labor Day Holiday.  The school will be closed on that day.

  • Juniors, Seniors and their Parents: The WCPSS College Fair is scheduled for Sunday, September 11th, at the McKimmon Center on NC State campus from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. All juniors and seniors, as well as their parents, are invited to attend this event.

  • Freshmen:  Any freshman interested in running for a class officer position should stop by and see Mrs. Price.  Elections for Freshman Class Offices will be Monday, September 12th.

  • Attention Seniors: Senior picture make-up day will be on Thursday, October 13th on the Vernon Malone campus.

  • Show your support for our students and teachers by joining PTSA! The website to join is: https://vernonmalonecca.memberhub.com/store

  • Wake County will not be providing meals free of charge this school year.  Any families interested in applying for Free or Reduced meals, applications are available in the front office or you can apply online at: https://www.myschoolapps.com/

  • Attention Senior parents:  It is a North Carolina State requirement that all seniors receive the MCV4 immunization to remain in school.  If you have not submitted your senior’s updated booster, you have until Friday, September 9th to do so.  Please take this information seriously, as, based on NC State law, should we not receive this information by the date noted, your student will be removed from his/her classes. If your child is up to date with this booster, you can email the updated record to yssanders@wcpss.net.

  • Keep your students safe, keep in contact with your teachers, and have a good evening.

  • Todas las familias hispanohablantes deberían recibir este "mensaje semanal" a través de un correo electrónico una vez por semana. Si no recibe este correo electrónico, comuníquese con la oficina principal para agregar su correo electrónico a la lista.
