East Millbrook Arts Department Shines Bright in Quarter One  

The Arts are alive and thriving at East Millbrook Academy of Arts and Design! This quarter, the students and staff in the Arts Department have achieved remarkable accomplishments and shared their talents far and wide. Here are the highlights from an exciting first quarter:  

🎨 2D Art Takes Center Stage at the NC State Fair

  
Our talented 2D Art students earned a 6th Place Award at the NC State Fair with a stunning collaborative piece that showcased creativity and craft skills. Competing against schools across the state, this recognition underscores the incredible artistic talent at East Millbrook.

🎶 Songs of Hope at Meymandi Performing Arts Center  

The Chorus Guild performed at the prestigious Meymandi Performing Arts Center in the Songs of Hope fundraiser to support Western North Carolina communities impacted by Hurricane Helene. Their beautiful harmonies not only moved the audience but also made a meaningful difference in the lives of others.  

🎭 Theatre Guild Travels to Henderson for Inspiration  

Theatre Guild students embarked on an inspiring field trip to Henderson, NC, to see *Hunchback of Notre Dame the Musical*. Experiencing professional performances is a key part of their arts education, sparking ideas and igniting a passion for their own productions.

🎨 Broughton Arts Festival Showcases Student Talent

 
Both 2D and 3D Art students proudly displayed their work at the Broughton Arts Festival, wowing attendees with their creativity and innovation. Their pieces were a testament to the incredible diversity and depth of talent at East Millbrook.  

🎤🎶💃🎻 Performing Arts Guilds Bring Joy to Local Elementary Schools

  
In an effort to share their love of the arts, students from the Chorus, Dance, Orchestra, Band, and Theatre Guilds performed at four local elementary schools. Their energetic performances introduced younger students to the joy of the performing arts, leaving a lasting impression and planting seeds of future artistic pursuits.
