This is Dr. Saunders with this week’s Sunday Kickoff Message, as we prepare to jump into these final weeks of school tomorrow morning at 9:10am. Please discuss behavior expectations you have for your Aviator with them, this evening or in the morning. As  Aviators, we land the plane safely and that’s what we expect to do between now and June 10^th.

Annual Family Survey for WCPSS and Baucom

WCPSS is administering its district-wide, annual Family Survey this year, through Friday, May 6^th. This survey provides families the opportunity to share valuable information and its data is helpful for each school’s School Improvement Plan. The survey has been translated into various languages and the desired language can be chosen by families before taking the survey. The link to access the survey is HERE and we appreciate your participation in offering feedback.

EOGs NOT Optional in 3^rd-5^th this School Year

Next tonight, I do need all 3^rd grade to 5^th grade families to understand that while EOGs were optional last year, due to COVID-19 considerations, they are once again part of school accountability in North Carolina. Baucom Elementary will be penalized by the state if we do not test all eligible students. If you and your family are thinking about a trip or vacation at the end of May or beginning of June, please look at the EOG dates below, in the Previews & Reviews section of this message. We find that students test best on their assigned test day, but if all else fails, a makeup exam can be given the week of June 6^th. Thank you for making this adjustment back to the way things were, alongside us.

-Did you know that Kindergarten registration for 2022-2023 is well under way? Baucom families – if you yourself have a Kindergarten-age eligible little one to register, OR if you know a neighbor or family member needing to enroll for next school year, PLEASE let them know they can connect with our Data Manager, Beverly Robinson, here at Baucom anytime. It helps us tremendously to gain Kindergarten registration sooner rather than later. For instance, the district considers the registration numbers when allotting us teacher positions for the following year. Encuesta Familiar Anual para WCPSS y Baucom

WCPSS está administrando su Encuesta Familiar anual en todo el distrito este año desde ahora hasta el viernes 6 ^{de mayo}. Esta encuesta permite a las familias compartir información valiosa que tienen. Los datos serán considerados para el Plan de Mejoramiento Escolar de Baucom. La encuesta ha sido traducida a varios idiomas y el idioma deseado puede ser elegido por las familias antes de tomar la encuesta. EOGs NO opcionales en 3º-5º este año escolar

Próximo esta noche, se requiere participación para el EOG este año. El año pasado, fueron opcionales debido a COVID-19. Los EOG son parte de la responsabilidad escolar en Carolina del Norte. Baucom Elementary será penalizado por el estado si no evaluamos a todos los estudiantes elegibles. Por favor, mire las fechas de EOG a continuación, antes de planificar unas vacaciones a finales o mayo o principios de junio. Los estudiantes evalúan mejor en el día de prueba asignado. Si se necesita un examen de maquillaje, se puede realizar la semana del 6 de junio. Gracias por hacer este ajuste de nuevo a la forma en que estaban las cosas, junto con nosotros.
