MECME Families,

We are almost there, MECME! This is our last week of school for the 2022-23 school year. We want to thank all our families for their ongoing support throughout the school year. We look forward to even stronger partnerships next year. There are some important end-of-year reminders in this week’s update, so please read carefully. Let’s have a great final week, and I hope you all have a wonderful summer! Weekly family updates will resume in August.

Chromebooks – All 5^th Grade Students should turn in Chromebooks before the last day of school. You will be issued a new device at your new middle school. All other students who are returning to WCPSS next year should keep their Chromebooks. Again, if your student is a current 5^th grade student or is leaving WCPSS, Chromebooks should be returned.

End of Year Celebration of Learning, June 7 - Please join us for our End of Year Celebration of Learning on June 7^th from 5pm - 7pm at MECME. We will be celebrating your child's hard work this year with classroom visits and activity stations. Snacks will be available, and every student will receive a free pupusa from Mesas Food Truck, thanks to our community partner company, Chiesi. (Mesas Food Truck and Jam Soft Serve Ice Cream Mobile Truck will also be on site for additional purchases.) More information to come from your child's teacher!

EOG Remediation and Retesting – If your student in grades 3, 4, or 5 is eligible to retake an EOG, they will receive a letter on Monday with information. Please return this letter as soon as possible so that we can arrange for transportation and lunch for those who need it.

5^th Grade Moving Up Ceremony – We will celebrate our 5^th graders on Friday, June 9, with a moving up ceremony. Parents should have received details from their student’s teacher. If you did not, please contact them directly.

Summer Access – Students returning to MECME should have access to DreamBox and Lexia over the summer. We encourage students to continue to practice their skills over the summer break with these two resources. Students also have access to a variety of books through myON. All of this can be found in their WakeID.

Familias MECME,

¡Ya casi llegamos, MECME! Esta es nuestra última semana de clases para el año escolar 2022-23. Queremos agradecer a todas nuestras familias por su apoyo continuo durante todo el año escolar. Esperamos con interés asociaciones aún más sólidas el próximo año. Hay algunos recordatorios importantes de fin de año en la actualización de esta semana, así que lea atentamente. ¡Vamos a tener una gran semana final, y espero que todos tengan un verano maravilloso! Las actualizaciones familiares semanales se reanudarán en agosto.

Chromebooks – Todos los estudiantes de 5º grado deben entregar Chromebooks antes del último día de clases. Se le entregará un nuevo dispositivo en su nueva escuela intermedia. Todos los demás estudiantes que regresarán a WCPSS el próximo año deben conservar sus Chromebooks. Nuevamente, si su estudiante es un estudiante actual de 5º grado o está dejando WCPSS, los Chromebooks deben ser devueltos.

Celebración de fin de año del aprendizaje, 7 de junio - Únase a nosotros para nuestra Celebración de fin de año del aprendizaje el 7 de junio de 5pm a 7pm en MECME. Celebraremos el arduo trabajo de su hijo este año con visitas al aula y estaciones de actividades. Habrá bocadillos disponibles, y cada estudiante recibirá una pupusa gratis de Mesas Food Truck, gracias a nuestra empresa asociada a la comunidad, Chiesi. (Mesas Food Truck y Jam Soft Serve Ice Cream Mobile Truck también estarán en el sitio para compras adicionales). ¡Más información del maestro de su hijo!

Remediación y repetición de EOG – Si su estudiante en los grados 3, 4 o 5 es elegible para volver a tomar un EOG, recibirá una carta el lunes con información. Por favor, devuelva esta carta tan pronto como sea posible para que podamos organizar el transporte y el almuerzo para aquellos que lo necesiten.

Ceremonia de ascenso de 5^º grado  – Celebraremos a nuestros estudiantes de 5^º grado el viernes 9 de junio con una ceremonia de ascenso. Los padres deberían haber recibido detalles del maestro de su estudiante. Si no lo hizo, póngase en contacto con ellos directamente.

Acceso de verano – Los estudiantes que regresan a MECME deben tener acceso a DreamBox y Lexia durante el verano. Alentamos a los estudiantes a continuar practicando sus habilidades durante las vacaciones de verano con estos dos recursos. Los estudiantes también tienen acceso a una variedad de libros a través de myON. Todo esto se puede encontrar en su WakeID.
