Principal's Message for Families, 9/9/2024

Sanford Creek Families,

Welcome Back Track 2!  Thank you to all who joined our General PTA meeting last week.  If you missed it and would like to read/hear more about what was discussed, visit https://sanfordcreekpta.weebly.com/

WCPSS and the Town of Rolesville continue to work together to solve "pain-points" with no right of way at our entrance/exit from/onto Granite Falls Blvd - especially with the increase of traffic due to the construction closure.

One way to dissipate traffic at the base of the driveway is to utilize Scarboro and Young Street as an alternate entrance or exit from the school.

Exiting Campus: Turn right at the top of the driveway (granite rock and gravel driveway on right).  Take an immediate left onto Scarboro.  At the stop sign, turn left onto W. Young Street.  Turn left onto Granite Falls Blvd.

Entering Campus:  From Rogers Road, take Granite Falls past the school.  At the stop sign, turn right onto Young St.  Take the next right onto Scarboro.  At the stop sign, make a slow and careful right turn to then make a left into the carpool lane/driveway of the school.

When you ease one pain point, another can quickly develop.  PLEASE exercise caution and patience at the top of the driveway and treat it as a four-way stop by taking turns - regardless of whether you are arriving or exiting.

Have a good week!

Tiffany Rich, Principal

UPDATE -BUS TRANSPORTATION

With the start of traditional calendar schools, our green and yellow buses have seen some delays, whether AM or PM. Over the next 2 to 3 weeks, please be patient with our bus drivers as they observe and become familiar with new traffic patterns with the return of traditional school, while ensuring every student is picked up and dropped off safely at their assigned stop. Breakfast is held and is made available to students who arrive on late buses. Staff supervision is provided for students who are waiting for late buses to arrive on campus in the afternoons.

To check if your students' bus is delayed, go to https://busupdates.wcpss.net/ and follow the instructions. You may use the Here Comes the Bus app to monitor bus updates also.  For questions or concerns, please contact Gladys Washington at gwashington@wcpss.net or 919-570-2100.
