It is hard to believe we are quickly cruising through April! We have many exciting student and PTA events occurring in the next two weeks! Check out the announcements and updates below.

Musical Showcase - this week!
Sanford Creek 3rd graders and Songbird Chorus presents a musical showcase titled "Movies Bring Us Together". We hope that you are able to come to this free musical experience on Thursday April 20th at 6 pm. The Songbirds will also be performing their epic Pieces of Gold song. Performers must arrive at 5:30 (3rd graders to the media center and Songbirds to the music room)
Movie themed concessions will be served for $1.00 and donations will also be appreciated. All proceeds go towards instruments, set, props, and costumes for the SCE music program. Thank you for all of your support!
Panorama Family Survey
Wake County Public Schools is administering a District Wide Family Survey from Monday, April 10 through Friday, May 12. This survey provides families with the opportunity to provide valuable information and a high-quality data source for planning and school improvement.
The survey has been translated into various languages; Spanish, Arabic, French, Korean, Vietnamese, and Chinese in an effort to provide accessibility to families in Wake County Public Schools. The survey administration language can be chosen by families before taking the survey.

'22-23 Yearbooks for Sale!
It’s that time of the year for yearbooks! Yearbooks are $20.00. Families have an option of purchasing yearbooks online, or by cash or check. Online link to purchase a yearbook:

If you are paying by cash or check, please make sure your envelope has your child's first and last name. Make checks out to SCE PTA. The last day to purchase a yearbook will be May 5th.

PTA Spring Carnival - Volunteers Needed!

SCE Art in the Community from Mr. Diaz
I am excited to announce that our students have their art out in our community! Two locations are currently displaying SCE art, The State Employees Credit Union of Rolesville and The Wake Forest Renaissance Centre! Below I have detailed the times and dates families can view students' art!
Wake Forest Renaissance Centre: Sat, Apr 22 April Exhibit
Reception: The Renaissance Centre will honor our student artists during a special showing of their work, free and open to the public, on Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. in the Arts Annex. Students will be receiving a slip from Mr. Diaz if their pieces are in the showcase!
Anyone unable to attend the special showing can contact Debra Horton, Centre Specialist, to schedule an appointment to view the exhibit at dhorton@wakeforestnc.gov or 919-435-9566.

New! SCE Gardening Club
We are so excited to announce that we are prepping to start our Gardening Club. With the help of the PTA, we have started purchasing a few items that we will need. However, we are still in need of supplies to create our Blue Jay Garden. If you are able, please sign up to bring in one of the supplies listed below. It's that Time of Year - Field Day is Here!
Parent volunteers are needed to make the day a success, full of fun and memories for all the students! You don’t have to do anything especially athletic, just help the kids stay focused on the event station, stay safe and have fun!
Sign Up links for each field day are below. Prior to signing up, please make sure you are on the approved WCPSS volunteer list. If you are uncertain whether you have been approved or not, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Ms. Alicia Matthews at armatthews@wcpss.net or (919) 570-2100 x 20252. If you would like to volunteer and still need to complete the WCPSS volunteer form, please see the directions above and complete it as soon as possible (approval can take up to two weeks). Please note Field Day is a volunteer-only event this year.
