WES Families,

WCPSS has announced schools will dismiss three hours early today, Friday, January 10th. Weatherstone will dismiss at 12:45pm. The After Care Program does not operate on early dismissal days. After Care students should be picked up in carpool at 12:45pm or may walk home if they already have a walker tag. After Care students may not ride a school bus home unless they already are assigned a bus route and have a bus tag.

A New Year’s Resolution

The start of the calendar year sometimes leads people to make New Year’s Resolutions. We suggest one around regular school attendance. We appreciate everyone’s efforts to avoid taking extra time off during the winter break. As long as your child is healthy, please encourage coming to school. Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to learn as well as to connect to their peers and teachers. Thank you for partnering with us!

Kids Heart Challenge

We have officially kicked off Kids Heart Challenge with the American Heart Association, and we need your help! Over the next few weeks students will be learning about heart health. We will be sharing heart health tips on the WES Morning News.

Our school's goal is for every student and family to know Hands-Only CPR and the warning signs of a stroke by signing up online and completing Finn’s Mission!

Step 1.  Sign up online! Visit our school’s Kids Heart Challenge page: HERE or download the AHA Schools app for iPhone or Android to search for our school and sign up! 

Step 2.  Complete Finn’s Mission!  

Why we support the American Heart Association: When cardiac arrests occur outside of the hospital, bystanders only respond 40% of the time. 75% of cardiac arrests occur in the home. Providing Hands-Only CPR immediately can double or triple a person’s chance of survival.
