    Mr. Curley is originally from a little town in upstate New York called Madrid. He is married to his wife Lindsey and together they have their daughter, Ava, They have recently added a new member to the family, a chocolate lab named Jersey. He went to the State University of New York at Cortland where he played four years of hockey and achieved his BS in Health Education. Mr. Curley attended the State University of New York at Potsdam and earned his master in Childhood Education. Mr. Curley's favorite sports teams are the New Jersey Devils, New York Giants, and the New York Mets. He enjoys going to concerts, traveling with his wife, hanging out with the girls and Jersey, playing hockey and the drums, and wood working projects.

    Mrs. Douds is a lifelong Tarheel. She is a native of North Carolina. She is married to Dennis Douds, a graduate of the University of North Carolina. They have one child, Donald James (DJ), who was named after both grandfathers and great-grandfathers. DJ is a four sport athlete playing football, basketball, baseball and track so most of her free time is spent driving to and from practice. Last year DJ was the inaugural recipient of male athlete of the year at Apex Middle School. He is a freshman at Apex Friendship and is currently on the JV football team. Mrs. Douds loves spending time on the beach while listening to Classic Rock and 80's music on her ipod and reading the latest Harlan Coben or James Patterson thriller. She is a fan of the Tarheels and the Carolina Panthers. She is a graduate of Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Georgia and Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. A fun fact about Mrs. Douds is that her favorite movies are Steel Magnolias and anything with Tom Hiddleston.

    Mrs. Kazanjian is a lifelong educator that loves the great outdoors. She enjoys traveling to the beach and volunteering her time at coastal parks to support marine wildlife. She also enjoys spending time with her family, fishing, hiking, boating, reading, and playing board games. Mrs. Kazanjian went to the University of South Florida where she received her degree in education. One fun fact about Mrs. Kazanjian is that she loves Loggerhead and Green turtles!

    Mrs. Marnell is a native North Carolinian. She was born and raised in Lumberton, NC. She earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Mrs. Marnell met her husband, Jason Marnell, while attending college. They were married in 1999 and relocated to the RTP area to be closer to his family. Jason and Rose have two children, Cole and Mallory. An interesting fact about Mrs. Marnell is that she is a member of the Native American Lumbee Tribe.

    Mr. Russell has lived in Texas, New Jersey, New York City, Chicago, and Western New York.  He has earned his master's degree in Inclusive Elementary and Special Education from Nazareth College of Rochester, and recently a second master's degree in Educational Leadership from Queens University of Charlotte. After teaching for several years in Rochester, NY Mr. Russell and his wife decided he had enough of the long, cold winters and that their future lay south. Mr. Russell and his wife have made amazing friendships in and about the Triangle and are excited they chose to make their home in Chapel Hill. When not teaching, Mr. Russell can be found exploring our amazing state from the Mountains to the Ocean with Sadie, his rescue golden mix puppy at his side. Mr. Russell is beyond thrilled to continue teaching at Weatherstone Elementary and is looking forward to an outstanding school year!
