Field Trips and Volunteer Registration

As we start preparing for field trips this year, we have two important things for you to do:

1. Field trips will be paid through a new online system, School Cash Online. Please create an account and link your students. Here are the directions for using the new online system.

2. If you plan to chaperone on a field trip, you will need to register / renew online as a volunteer at wcpss.net/volunteer.  

 

Bus Safety

At the start of the year, WCPSS reviews bus safety rules with students. All WES students watched a bus evacuation video this week on the morning news and morning bus riders participated in a bus evacuation drill.

 

Replacement Family Hangtags

If your family is in need of replacement hangtags for dismissal, please contact the main office.

 

Before and After School Care Program

The Weatherstone Before and After School Programs have openings at all grade levels. The program is run by Weatherstone staff. You may register for days needed or weekly. Fees average to $2.75/hour. Before care begins at 7:00am and after care ends at 6:00 pm. The afterschool program includes time to work on homework. More information may be found on the WES Website.

Back to School Night

Our Back to School Night will be Thursday, Sept 19. Grade level teachers will host sessions at 5:30-6:00 and do a repeat session at 6:10-6:40. Support and instructional staff will be located in the cafeteria for families to visit. The PTA will be located in the media center. You will be able to meet the new officers, buy spiritwear, and join the PTA. Be sure to stop by both places!

 

WES Clothing Drive

The WES Clothing drive is next week! We are collecting clean, gently used clothing items for ages 5-12. This includes shirts, pants, jackets, and shoes. Please ensure that all items are in good condition, as we want to provide quality clothing to those who need it (please do not donate used underwear or socks). Items may be dropped off in the school lobby.

 

Your generous donations will go a long way in supporting families and individuals in our community. PTA Membership

Weatherstone PTA provides financial resources and parent participation for our school in support of academic programs, staff program needs, student initiatives and facility improvements. These programs would not be possible without your annual donations.  Anyone can join: teachers, staff, parents, grandparents and community members. Running Club Registration 2024-2025 School Year

Weatherstone Endurance Superstars (aka Running Club) is back for the 2024-2025 school year.  Join us WEDNESDAY mornings from 8:15-8:45 a.m. as we lace up and work towards completing a marathon by the end of the school year. Participation is open to all grades. Please note Kindergarten and 1st grade parents must stay with their children. Students will walk, jog or run around the track and keep count of the distance completed. If interested, please register and complete the waiver no later than Friday, Sept 27th. Please register only if your child is planning to attend.  Registration is online at:  WES 2024/2025 Running Club Registration Our first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct 2nd.
