• PSAT

    Wednesday, October 12 from 7:25 a.m. - 11:25 a.m.

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) measures what you're learning in school, determines if you're on track, and opens doors for opportunities to prepare and pay for college.

The district will administer the PSAT/NMSQT on Wednesday, October 12.  WCPSS will no longer be restricting participants to students in the 11th grade.  However, the PSAT NMSQT contains items with Algebra I and some Geometry concepts, so if students have not completed Math I, they should not register.

While all high school students can register to take the PSAT/NMSQT, the district will only pay for 11th-grade students who are likely to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship.  Any other students interested in taking the PSAT can pay $18 to take the assessment. The PSAT allows 11th grade students the opportunity to potentially qualify for a National Merit scholarship if they receive a very high score (generally the top 1%). For this reason, WCPSS is offering the test free of charge to those Juniors (11th grade) in the top 10% of their class with a 4.367 GPA and higher.

    Registration Information

All students who wish to take the PSAT on October 12 must fill out the following registration form (both free and paying students). The $18 fee must be paid online at the Enloe website (go to Parents tab - online payments). The registration fee is due by Monday, September 12.  Payments will not be accepted after 11:59 p.m. on September 12.
