The following are important reminders:

No School on Monday, May 26 – Memorial Day

As we pause for Memorial Day, we honor and mourn the U.S. military personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

💙💛 Fuller Falcons and their families can show tribute in meaningful ways:

🕯️ Light a candle in remembrance
🎖️ Visit a local veterans memorial or cemetery
📚 Read a book or watch a documentary about military heroes
📝 Write letters of thanks to active-duty service members or veterans
🎨 Create patriotic art or flags to display at home
🎺 Observe the national moment of silence at 3:00 p.m. local time
❤️ Wear red, white, and blue with pride

Let’s take this day to reflect, remember, and honor those who gave everything.

😎SUN Bucks Summer Food Assistance Program Available (for eligible students)

This U.S. Department of Agriculture program provides a debit card worth $120 per eligible child that can be used to buy nutritious food during the summer months when schools are out. Most eligible students will be automatically enrolled in the program, but some will need to apply. Visit ncdhhs.gov/sunbucks to determine if you need to apply.

 

📚✨ Fuller Falcons: It’s Almost Testing Time! ✨📚

Here’s the 2025 End-of-Grade Testing Schedule for Grades 3–5:

🗓️ June 2 – Reading EOG (Grades 3, 4, 5)
🗓️ June 3 – Math EOG (Grades 3, 4, 5)
🗓️ June 4 – Science EOG (Grade 5)
🗓️ June 6 – Read to Achieve (for select 3rd graders only)

✏️ Students who qualify for EOG Remediation & Retesting will be invited to attend:

🚌 Remediation: June 11 & 12
📝 Retesting: June 17 & 18
💡 Transportation, breakfast, and lunch provided!

🦅 Help your student shine! Here are a few tips:

Before the test:
✔️ Stick to a consistent sleep schedule
✔️ Eat healthy & stay active
✔️ Talk through strategies & build confidence
✔️ Review sample test items and strategies with your student. 

Day of the test:
🍎 Eat breakfast at home or school
🕖 Arrive on time & stress-free
📵 Leave electronics at home
🙌 Remind them: “Do your best—your worth is more than a test!”

Requesting Educational Leave at the Start of the 2025–2026 School Year

Many families have reached out about taking Educational Leave at the start of the next school year. Please be aware of the following critical policy:

🚫 Mr. Hernandez will NOT approve Educational Leave during the first 20 days of school.
✔️ A student does not receive an E1 code (official enrollment) until they are physically present.
📊 These first 20 days determine our staffing allocations from the district.
🧑‍🏫 Losing even a few students during this window can result in losing a teacher. In fact, we lost one homeroom teacher at the start of this school year due to under-enrollment.

💡 Fuller Magnet is currently staffed with just the right number of homeroom teachers. If a student is not present at the start of school and we lose a teacher, that student may have to return to their base school.
Attendance during the first 20 days of school is pivotal to ensuring your child remains at Fuller and that we retain our outstanding staff.We appreciate your understanding and commitment to a strong start in 2025-2026!
