    I am happy to be a Baucom Aviator for another year!  I began my career as a teacher, and have been a School Counselor since 2014.  I have 2 sons that currently attend Baucom-- Garrison and Camden.  My oldest son, Gavin, is a Baucom graduate and now attends Apex Middle.  During my free time, I watch hours of youth soccer, read, walk our dog Eevee, and try to keep my plants alive.  Moving to North Carolina 20 years ago from Indiana has been wonderful, though I still visit the land of corn and Hoosiers every summer.

    Ms. Abigail Spencer (Guidance)

    Hello!  My name is Abby Spencer and I am excited to be entering my 8th year as one of the School Counselors here at Baucom Elementary and my 19th year as a WCPSS School Counselor.  I absolutely love what I do and wouldn't change careers for anything in the world.  My favorite part of the school year is the first day.  I love seeing old and new faces and knowing that everyone can start anew. Personally, I was born and raised in Ludlow, Vermont.  I moved to North Carolina in 2007 and have been loving every hot day here ever since!  I live with my husband Ryan; my two sons, Cole (10) and Myles (8); two cats Louie and Bea and a sweet Bernedoodle puppy named Scooter.  When I have free time I enjoy reading a good book, spending time at the pool, and visiting with friends and family.es

    Ms. Michelle Bevil (PT)

    Hi, I’m the school physical therapist for Baucom and 10 other schools in Wake County.  I go by many names depending on the student population I am serving - Dr. Bevil, Ms. Michelle, or Ms. Bevil. I graduated from Pfeiffer University with a Bachelor of Science and went on to the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences where I earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.  I have worked as a physical therapist for 20 years across many settings including outpatient orthopedics, senior care and I joined WCPSS to work in the school setting in 2017. I live with my husband who is also a PT, and two kids both of whom have attended Baucom! My favorite hobbies are petting all of the dogs, working out and enjoying musical theater (local, regional or Broadway).

    Ms. Natalie Hunter (Social Work)

    The ‘25-’26 school year marks my 2nd year working with Baucom Elementary, but my 22nd year with WCPSS. I share my time with Turner Creek Elementary School. I was born and raised right here in Apex and continue to live here surrounded by family. I received my Undergraduate degree from Meredith College and my Masters Degree in Social work from East Carolina University.     Dr. Jessica Loehman (Psychologist)

    I have been a school psychologist for WCPSS since 2015 and have worked at Baucom since 2017. I love being a part of the Baucom community! I received my undergraduate degree in psychology from Meredith College in 2009. I went on to receive my PhD in school psychology from NC State in 2015. I recently became a mother in November 2024! I have a beautiful son named Derrick. I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy cooking and spending time outdoors. We have two dogs, Hector and Zeus. Hector is a 7 year old German shepherd/Husky mix and Zeus is a 16 year old Miniature Pinscher. I look forward to another year at Baucom!
