Degrees and Certifications:
Guidance Counselor - Ms. Abby Spencer (1st row 1st):
Hello! My name is Abby Spencer and I am very excited to be entering my 5th year as Baucom's School Counselor! This year will mark my 16th year as a School Counselor in Wake County. I graduated from Lesley University in Cambridge Massachusetts in 2007 with my Master of Arts in Counseling with a Specialization in School Counseling and Springfield College in Massachusetts in 2005 with my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I am a Northern girl, born and raised in Ludlow, Vermont (home of Okemo Ski Mountain). Although I was raised in a snowy ski town, I despise the snow! So, it was only natural to move south after I completed my Master's Degree! I moved to North Carolina in 2007 and have been loving every hot day here ever since! I live with my husband Ryan, my sons: Cole (7) and Myles (5) and a grumpy old cat named Lucy. When I have free time, I enjoy reading a good book, spending time at the pool, and visiting with friends and family.
Psychologist - Ms. Jessica Loehman (1st row 2nd over):
I have been a school psychologist for Wake County Public Schools since the 2015-2016 school year and love serving the school system that I grew up in. I graduated from Meredith College with a B.S. in psychology. I then went on to NC State University and graduated with a PhD in school psychology. As a school psychologist, I support the social, emotional, and academic success of all students. I use a data-based, problem solving approach to help identify students’ strengths and needs and determine how to best support them at school. I can provide direct support to students through assessment, interventions, and counseling. I also provide indirect support through parent and teacher consultation and collaboration. Finally, I work with the special education staff to identify students in need of special education services. Outside of school I enjoy cooking, spending time with friends, lounging by the pool, and taking care of my dogs, Hector and Zeus. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s success.
Literacy Coach - Ms. Cathy Cnare (1st row 3rd over):
Intervention Coordinator - Ms. Jennifer Letellier (2nd row 1st):
Hello! My name is Jennifer LeTellier and I am one of the Intervention Teachers here at Baucom. This is my 18th year teaching. I have taught a variety of grades throughout the years, but teaching reading is my favorite. I grew up in Buffalo, NY and am a huge Buffalo Bills fan. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our three kids (Blake, Kasey and Kate) and our dog, Judge. Relaxing on the beach with a good book is my favorite thing to do! I am looking forward to another exciting school year!
AIG - Ms. Mary Chambliss (2nd row 2nd over):
Hello! I’m Mary Chambliss, the AIG teacher. I look forward to working with you and your child this year! I have been teaching for 27 years and have also worked as an Instructional Technology Consultant. Originally from Virginia, I attended Va Tech (Go Hokies!) After moving to North Carolina, I earned a M.Ed from NC State in Curriculum and Instruction and my AIG certification from UNCW. I love traveling, reading, exercising and solving problems! My husband's name is Thomas and we have a daughter, Emily and a son, Matthew both at NC State. This year I hope to encourage and inspire your child to work hard, have fun and discover their talents as well as the many talents in those around them. Please don't hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns at email@example.com.
Instructional Facilitator - Ms. Katherine Rushin (2nd row 3rd over):
Hi! My name is Katherine Rushin. I am excited to be entering my 12th year of teaching and working at Baucom Elementary! I grew up in Charleston, SC and received my teaching degree and K-12 Reading Certification at East Carolina University. GO PIRATES! I enjoy visiting my family in Savannah, reading, working out, swimming, cooking, and traveling! I am looking forward to another wonderful school year!
Social Worker - Ms. Stacie Dababnah (2nd row 4th over):
Hi, I’m School Social Worker, Stacie Dababnah! Though I have 16 years’ experience as a Social Worker, this will be my second in the school system (and after experiencing my first summer off I’m kicking myself for not making that transition years ago!). I graduated from Meredith College with my bachelor’s in social work and then completed my Master’s through UNC Chapel Hill’s Advance Standing Program, where I was in the Child Welfare Collaborative. I worked in Child Welfare for several years in both Wake and Chatham County and then briefly at Duke before transitioning over to the WCPSS. My family and I reside in Durham with our dog and two cats. I enjoy traveling, wood working, and spending time with my 9yr old.
