Hi, My name is Brenda House (also known as Ms. Brenda or Mrs. House).  I am new at Baucom this year, but I am very excited to be joining the staff here and working as an Instructional Assistant in the Pre-K and the EC Classes.  I grew up in Ohio where I graduated with a degree in Elementary and Special Education.  I recently added BK licensure through a program at Barton College in Wilson, NC.  I have taught and assisted in various capacities and with various programs over the years (6th grade, 5th grade, Kindergarten, ECS, and most recently Pre-K).  I can already tell that this school will rank among the top of my favorites list!!

When not in school, I love spending time with my family--husband, 3 "mostly-grown" children--2 sons and a daughter (who are spread across the country), walking with my Cavapoo ("Lilliana"), traveling, going to the beach, exercising, bike riding, hosting an exchange student, and participating in my Church handbell choir (yes--I am a true "ding-a-ling")!!! I can't wait to meet your children and help them to be their very best and achieve their full potential during this exciting school year!!

Psychologist - Ms. Jessica Loehman (1st row 5th over):

I have been a school psychologist for Wake County Public Schools since the 2015-2016 school year and love serving the school system that I grew up in. I graduated from Meredith College with a B.S. in psychology. I then went on to NC State University and graduated with a PhD in school psychology. As a school psychologist, I support the social, emotional, and academic success of all students. I use a data-based, problem-solving approach to help identify students’ strengths and needs and determine how to best support them at school. I can provide direct support to students through assessment, interventions, and counseling. I also provide indirect support through parent and teacher consultation and collaboration. Finally, I work with the special education staff to identify students in need of special education services. Outside of school, I enjoy cooking, spending time with friends, lounging by the pool, and taking care of my dogs, Hector and Zeus. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s success.

Special Education Teacher - Mr. Chris Johnson(2nd row 4th over):

I am Chris Johnson and I am beginning my 20th year in Special Education at Baucom ES. I adore this school and believe we have the best staff imaginable across grade levels, specialists and Administration. My three adult daughters all attended Baucom and continue to reference the school and teachers as their best learning experience growing up.

My wife is an LCSW and together we seem to be rotating our three daughters back into our “empty nest”, but happily so, I am, through my Kentucky alumni spouse, a rabid Kentucky Men’s Basketball fan. GO WILDCATS! But I do understand there are some local teams with some following.

I am a proud father of 2 one year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi brothers, Angus (Angus Young, AC/DC) and Presley (yes, Elvis, my daughter is a huge fan). I adore them and in return they bark and wrestle incessantly.

I have my Bachelors in Psychology/Education and a second Bachelor's in Information Technology. I joined the teaching profession through lateral entry.
